Location: Altamonte Springs, FL - Specialty: Pediatric, Neonatology

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and energetic neonatologist as we expand our group at the Level 2 NICU at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, formerly Florida Hospital Altamonte – approximately 10 miles north of downtown Orlando, Florida.  This physician would work with one other Neonatologist, in a new 10 bed level 2 NICU.  Altamonte has approximately 2,500 deliveries per year. These physicians will be supported by the quaternary care NICU at AdventHealth for Children, with a seamless transport process for infants that need a higher level of care.

You would be part of a larger group of neonatologists that are part of AdventHealth for Children Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital for Children. Depending on your interest, you would also be able to rotate for two different (three week) blocks at our Level 3 NICU. Our regional network includes a delivery volume of approximately 15,000 births per year. We have a dedicated Neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced Pediatric Subspecialists.

The new physician joining the group should be board certified in pediatrics and board certified/eligible through the Sub-Board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic Pediatric Neuro Oncologist to join our team of pediatric cancer specialists based at The Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando, Florida.  The ideal candidate would have clinical experience post fellowship and be interested in an active clinical opportunity.  New physician would help to develop the program and work with our dedicated team of oncologists, pediatric neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists.  We also have over 200 families in our Neurofibromatosis multi-disciplinary program that is currently housed in the pediatric oncology practice.  Our hospital is part of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and actively participates in over 40 open COG clinical trials.

The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children (AHFC), formerly Florida Hospital for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) are looking for a dynamic and team-oriented Pediatric Epileptologist to join our Level IV Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program led by Dr. Ki Hyeong Lee and Dr. James Baumgartner. (website).  Diagnostic facility includes a state-of-art 3T intra-operative MRIs, PET, SPECT, and MEG center.  We have acquired both Monteris Laser Ablation system and ROSA Stereo EEG system.  

The physician would work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacology, psychology, pediatric neurology, pediatric radiology and pediatric neurosurgery. In addition to the clinical team, 3 PhD researchers are embedded in the team to engage in epilepsy-neuroscience research. AdventHealth Medical Group Spine Health at Altamonte Springs is looking for a dynamic and team-oriented Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our established destination program.  This position is for a PM&R trained physician to help build and grow the practice in new markets around the Orlando area.  This opportunity is focused on growing our satellite offices, all within a 15-30 minute drive from our main office located in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The new physician will have the ability to shape his/her practice based on subspecialty interests. 

With the leadership of Dr. Chetan Patel, Medical Director, this physician will have the opportunity to provide the best care and treatment options for spine care patients.  We have full multidisciplinary services at Spine Health at Altamonte Springs that include rehab and sports medicine, wellness, psychology, pain medicine, procedures, and outcomes-based research.  The position would be based predominantly in an outpatient setting for patient consultations and EMG procedures.

SUMMARY:   Serves as a member of the cardiovascular critical care team by assisting in management of critically ill patients in the hospital.  Applies specialized skills and knowledge related to CCU and CVICU settings in which they practice.  Contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with cardiac or multi-system failure, within institutional guidelines and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient’s physician.
  • Obtains patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings in accordance with hospital requirements.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and external cardiac massage; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation, repositioning endotracheal tubes; directing administration of life supporting drugs according to established protocols; and defibrillation according to Advanced Cardiac Life Support standards.
  • Under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital, inserts and manages arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment.
  • Interfaces patients with monitoring and instrumentation equipment, and directs and educates others in performing the same functions.
  • Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries.
  • Assesses patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient.
  • Provides family-centered care by communicating with the family regarding the changing health care needs of their family member.
  • Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
  • Participates and assists with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of the cardiac transplant, ventricular assist device, and ECMO patient in the OR and ICU’s.
  • Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
  • Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification as Physician Assistant;
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate.
  • Required: 1-2 years’ experience as a PA-C in one of the following: Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac ICU or Cardiovascular ICU
