Location: Sebring, FL - Specialty: Pediatric, Hospitalist

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic and energetic pediatric hospitalists with a focus and interest in newborn nursery care to join our team AdventHealth Sebring (located approximately two hours south of Orlando).   This team, when fully staffed, would work alongside another pediatric hospitalist to provide 24-7 coverage.  Schedule would include both restricted and unrestricted call in a 7 on, 7 off schedule.  At Sebring we experience about 1,000 deliveries a year- responsibilities would include stabilization, resuscitation and daily rounds of our newborns and within our pediatric floor.

The physicians based at AdventHealth Sebring would have the support and experience of over 150 pediatric subspecialists based at AdventHealth for Children in downtown Orlando.  We have a dedicated neonatology transport team with over 100 Level 3 NICU beds at our main location.

Location: Tampa, FL - Specialty: Pediatric, Neonatology

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic and energetic Neonatologists to join our team at AdventHealth Tampa in association with AdventHealth for Children/Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando.   

The neonatologist would be responsible for all admissions, procedures, medical management while also leading out multidisciplinary rounds within the Level 3 NICU at AdventHealth Tampa.  The schedule would consist of a rotating shift model allowing for continuity and flexibility amongst the team of four physicians. 

AdventHealth Tampa has partnered with AdventHealth for Children with a vision to create and deliver high quality pediatric care elevating the local market and keeping kids close to home with a seamless connection to quaternary services.  We provide full coverage of pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and neonatologists at AdventHealth Tampa with complete access to local pediatric subspecialists.  This close collaboration also provides the ability for full quaternary services as needed through our expansive network of AdventHealth for Children.

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Pediatric, Neuro-Oncology

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic Pediatric Neuro Oncologist to join our team of pediatric cancer specialists based at The Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando, Florida.  The ideal candidate would have clinical experience post pediatric neuro oncology fellowship and be interested in an active clinical opportunity.  The Program Leader would help to lead the dedicated outpatient neuro oncology practice, protocols, research, and marketing and work with our devoted team of oncologists, pediatric neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists.  The new physician would also share in the inpatient service rotation with our pediatric hematology oncology team.  We also have over 200 families in our Neurofibromatosis multi-disciplinary program that is currently housed in the pediatric oncology program.  Our hospital is part of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and actively participates in over 40 open COG clinical trials.

Location: Altamonte Springs, FL - Specialty: Physical Medicine and Rehab, Pain Management

AdventHealth Medical Group Spine Health at Altamonte Springs is looking for a dynamic and team-oriented Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our established destination program.  This position is for a PM&R trained physician to help build and grow the practice in new markets around the Orlando area.  This opportunity is focused on growing 1-2 satellite offices, all within a 15-30 minute drive from our main office located in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The new physician will have the ability to shape his/her practice based on subspecialty interests. 

With the leadership of the medical director, Dr. Chetan Patel, this physician will have the opportunity to provide the best care and treatment options for patients with neck and back pain.  We have full multidisciplinary services at AHMG Spine Health that include rehab and sports medicine, wellness, psychology, pain medicine, procedures, and outcomes based research.  The position would be based in an outpatient setting for patient consultations and injections.  An ideal candidate would be able to perform EMG’s. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Physicians with an academic interest would find this position appealing as Dr. Patel is actively engaged in multiple FDA and European clinical trials and continues to serve as a faculty member for multiple spine societies.  He is the Robotics and Navigation Section chairman for the North American Society.  At AHMG Spine Health at Altamonte Springs, he has helped establish a comprehensive research database on operative and non-operative treatment of spine patients with the goal of reporting outcomes based on evidence based spinal treatment and refining clinical algorithms.   The new physician would have the opportunity to teach, participate in our research database and author multiple publications.

  • ACGME fellowship training in Pain Medicine.

General Summary: AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic, hard-working, board certified Advanced Practice Provider with experience in the rehab setting, managing Cardiac, Stroke, Brain Injuries, Neurology and Orthopedic patients.  The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of rehab patients, including all aspects of care from performing patient histories, daily rounding, family visits, and new consults.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physician(s) is responsible for:

  • Performing patient histories and physical exams.
  • Managing the Inpatient rehab unit. Handling patient rounding, patient/family education, admissions, and discharges.
  • Providing acute care consults at Altamonte, Apopka, and Deland campuses.
  • Building relationships with referring physicians.
  • Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist.
  • Collaborating with physician supervisor, OT, PT, therapists, skilled nurses, dietitians and other staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients.
  • Displaying a caring and always having a professional attitude, as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.
  • Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explains discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more.

Schedule Details:

  • Required to cover multiple campuses: Waterman, Apopka, Altamonte, and Deland.
  • Schedule: Required to work 20 days a Month: Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some flexibility.
  • Call responsibility: 2 weekends a month, including hospital rounding.
  • 50% traveling

AdventHealth Cardiovascular Institute is the number one heart transplant group in the Southeast performing more transplants per year than any other transplant center in the Southeast with patient survival rates over 82% after 3 years. With the yearly amount of surgeries done, it is no wonder we are looking to expand our cardiovascular ICU. We will be opening a new 32 bed CVICU in quarter 1 next year. We are looking for PA’s and APRN’s to join our growing critical care team. The APP would serve as a member of the cardiovascular critical care team by providing direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with cardiac or multi-system failure.

Duties and Responsibilities: The APP would be expected to

complete the following under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital: 

  • Assess patients for changes in condition and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency care.
  • Procedures performed but not limited to: Chest Tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, temporary pacemakers, airway management, and defibrillation
  • Participates and assists with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of the cardiac transplant, VAD, MCS, and ECMO patient in the and CVICU’s.
  • Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.

Schedule Details:

  • Ability to provide in-hospital coverage on a rotating shift basis. 
  • Hours are either 5 AM – 5 PM (Day), or 5 PM to 5 AM (night)
  • 14 (12 hour) shifts required per month
  • The shifts will include days, nights, two weekends per month and holiday rotation.

Experience and Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a PA or APRN in one of the following: Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac ICU or Cardiovascular ICU
  • Experience with transplant patients, L-VAD, Circulatory Assist Device, CABG’s (highly preferred)
  • ECMO experience (highly preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification

Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant

General Summary:

The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performs history and physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of surgical oncology patients primarily at AdventHealth Orlando
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.

  • Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required
  • Performs first assistant duties
  • Writes postop orders in the recovery room, performs post op procedures
  • Return phone calls of from patients
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff, including hospital rounds and inpatient consults
  • Candidate will also see patients in the outpatient setting

Schedule Details:

  • Main Location: AdventHealth Orlando
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM with some flexibility

Pediatric Developmental Psychologist

Full Time Position

AdventHealth Medical Group Developmental Pediatrics at Orlando

The Licensed Psychologist will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team with physicians and advanced practice providers in determining patient’s comprehensive plan of care. The Licensed Psychologist will identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials. The Licensed Psychologist has the knowledge and ability to work with pediatric patients from birth to 18-21 years of age and their families.

General Summary:  The developmental Psychologist is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Perform diagnostic tests for new patients, additional testing for already established patients
  • Ability to perform Mullen, WISC V, WPPSI, TONI, Bayley, Kaufmann Assessment, CARS-2, and ADOS-2 Testing
  • Interview patients and families, perform diagnostic testing
  • Provide diagnosis based on assessments, testing and evaluation
  • Develop and recommend treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnosis
  • Completes all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges.
  • Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team including family to provide preeminent care.
  • Communicates report in an efficient and complete manner. 

Required Education, Certification and Experience:

  • Doctorate Degree in Psychology or Ph.D.
  • Active, valid Florida License in Psychology

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience as a school psychologist (Preferred)
