General Summary: The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  •  Physical exams of patients, assessment, polypharmacy and treatment of injuries or illnesses for pediatric through geriatric patients, including acute visits and women’s health in the clinic setting
  • Responsibilities will also include - Medicare wellness visits, surgical clearances, acute visits and follow up appointments
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical examination and clinical findings
  • Orders pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to scope of license
  • Provides ongoing patient/family and staff education
  • Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team including family
  • Documents in a timely and thorough manner
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Schedule – Monday through Friday will rotate practice call on the weekends.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  •  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
  • Must demonstrate excellence in patient focused medical care & delivery of care
  • Strong medical decision-making skills are a must 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies

We provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients as well as needed resources and support for their caregivers.

General Summary: The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performing physical examinations of patients, assessment and treatment of injuries or illnesses for geriatric patients in the outpatient setting with a focus on Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia
  • Complete cognitive testing with standard instruments (MoCA test, MMSE, etc.)
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor, social worker and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude always as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Offers both in person and virtual appointments for patients
  • Call rotation, holiday rotation

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Passion for geriatrics

Our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Program treats a wide range of pediatric issues, including leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, anemia, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, blood and clotting disorders and thalassemia.   • Call is required (1 weekend per month and 1-2 weeknights of call), call includes hospital rounding
  • Schedule is Monday – Friday, with weekend call coverage (1 weekend per month)

General Summary: The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP/PA is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement.
  • Circumcision as needed (depending on campus)
  • Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunities available in the Tampa, Florida area.  AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal APRN’s or Physician assistants to work in our 28 bed Level III NICU. NICU offers whole range of level III services such as high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, whole-body hypothermia and neonatal surgeries.

General Summary: The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP/PA is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members.
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a supervising physician

Schedule Details:

  • Schedule is Monday through Friday

  • Day shift (8AM to 4PM) to assist with rounding, documentation and deliveries

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal focus, or Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies with Neonatal focus
  • 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an NNP is preferred but not mandatory
  • 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a PA-C is preferred but not mandatory
