General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performs physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of hematology and oncology patients primarily in the outpatient setting at our Orlando Location.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff

Schedule Details:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Campuses Covered: AdventHealth Orlando, East Orlando, and Altamonte Springs-primary; Winter Park, Apopka, Winter Garden (secondary)
  • Call required – 2 weekend days a month; includes rounding and overnight

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong medical decision-making skills are a must

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity available in Altamonte, FL. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU and newborn nursery. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 10-bed level 2 NICU and newborn nursery service at Altamonte. 

General Summary:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team
  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician
  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws

The provider in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 12 bed level 2 NICU at Ocala along with the newborn service.

AdventHealth for Children Pediatric ENT seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their new Pediatric ENT program.

General Summary:

  • The NP or PA assists the otolaryngology attending in all aspects of patient care. This position involves practice in the clinical setting, including inpatient, ambulatory/outpatient, and pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • The practice will involve care and management of patients requiring a consultation for ENT-related diagnoses.
  • Care will include performing clinic assessments, admission, history and physicals, daily plan of care, and some minor procedures.
  • Practitioner will manage the inpatient course in collaboration with the attending.
  • Practitioner will coordinate referrals and follow up on consults to other providers and clinic staff.

General Summary:

AdventHealth Celebration Radiation Oncology is part of the Florida-wide radiation oncology practice, inclusive of 32 providers across 15 clinics. AH Celebration provides care for patients in the south Orlando market and beyond. We care for 45-50 patients on treatment daily with two Varian TrueBeam accelerators and a busy consult and follow-up practice in the ground floor of the Celebration Cancer Center, built in 2019 This clinic is a nationwide leader in technology adoption as a training Center of Excellence in surface-guided RT, and one of two sites in AdventHealth offering integrative medicine counseling through our Health Eating and Active Lifestyle program. The clinic is staffed by four radiation oncologists providing 1.7 FTE coverage, a full-time APP, 2 FTE RNs, and 2.4 FTE consumer access specialists.

The APRN/PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Performing evaluation and management for radiation oncology patients in outpatient and inpatient settings

• Developing an independent survivorship practice for patients who have completed radiation therapy

• Providing symptom management during patients’ course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to either the supervising physician or specialist, as needed

• Supporting a patient-centered healthcare approach through patient and family education and support.

• Collaborating with physician supervisors and staff to provide consistent care to patients and a positive team environment
