The L&D Unit Medical Director will function as an OBGYN Hospitalist while also having the opportunity to oversee the operational aspects of Labor and Delivery. This position combines leadership, medical expertise, and collaboration skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to expectant mothers, newborns, and families. As the Unit Medical Director, you will work closely with nursing, clinical staff, and hospital leadership to ensure optimal outcomes, quality assurance, and adherence to best practices. As an OBGYN Hospitalist, you will evaluate triage/OBED patients, manage admitted patients, provide coverage support to community groups, perform gynecologic consultations, and be the in-house expert in obstetric and gynecologic emergencies. Additionally, our team at the Orlando campus also engages in medical education through work with fellows, residents, medical students, and other learners. The department has two fellowships, a one-year ACGME physician fellowship with two positions and a one-year APP fellowship with two positions. The position does require that the physician provide rotations at the East Campus for our fellows.
Requirements of the position include: • Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and desire to grow with the program • Board Certification/Eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine along with active board certification through one of the co-sponsoring boards. • Comfort level with overseeing APP’s (APRN/PA) • Comfort with education (Fellows/APPs)
