The Breast Oncology Medical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a fellowship trained hem/onc physician to join a busy three-physician practice with offices at AdventHealth Kissimmee and AdventHealth Celebration, just south of downtown Orlando and near the attractions. The ideal candidate will have experience building a general inpatient and outpatient practice with a variety of oncology patients. General hematology/oncology with subspecialty in GI is preferred but the group is certainly open to other interests. AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dynamic and hardworking physician to serve as a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Based at the tertiary hospital just north of downtown Orlando, this Internal Medicine Residency Program accepts 12 new residents each academic year. Internal medicine subspecialties (Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology) are needed in our system and would be considered along with general internists/hospitalists for the core faculty position. The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient and inpatient setting as well as seeing private patients and developing research projects in conjunction with residents and other faculty. Physician candidate would be considered core faculty and would need to be broadly skilled in Internal Medicine. Mix of general medicine and subspecialty practice will be individualized based on candidate’s experience. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills. We are looking for a dynamic Medical Director to help lead our Center for Genomic Health program we are starting in Central Florida. Our team is looking to develop a comprehensive genomics program that will engage with patients in a wide variety of specialties and age ranges across the continuum of care. The new physician would hold approximately 50% administrative and 50% clinical time. The scope of this role will begin in our eight-hospital campus system in the greater Orlando area (known as the Central Florida Division – South Region), and eventually expand in the long term into our full system at Advent Health which consists of 28 hospitals in the state and close to 50 hospitals around the country.
The Medical Director for Genomic Health is responsible for providing leadership in three core areas; 1) Program Development 2) Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement 3) Research and Medical Innovation. In order to create an exceptional experience for those we serve, the Medical Director will work closely with the hospital administration, our Central Florida Division leadership, AdventHealth population health services organization (PHSO), and multiple teams of providers in developing strategic and operational plans related to genomics to meet the community and medical staff needs.

One responsibility of the new Medical Director would be to partner with various multidisciplinary programs to develop a metabolic genetics and genomics program at AdventHealth. Our team will include two pediatric medical geneticists and two genetic counselors along with a metabolic dietician. The team will work with a multidisciplinary group of experienced clinicians which includes experts in neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, genetics, transplant surgery, MFM, general pediatrics, psychology and social work.
We are looking for a physician to help lead our metabolic disorders program as part of our Center for Genomic Health. This new physician would help partner with our state-of-the-art neonatology and pediatric liver transplant programs to develop a metabolic disorders program at AdventHealth for Children that will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents who have metabolic diseases. Our team will include two genetic counselors and a metabolic dietician and will work with a multidisciplinary group of experienced clinicians, with experts in neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, genetics, transplant surgeons, MFM, general pediatrics, psychology and social work. We will develop capability for rapid, in house biochemical testing to support this program for urgent diagnoses and will partner with established laboratories for advanced testing. The program would also see adults who have been previously diagnosed with a metabolic disorder.
The metabolic geneticist will work closely with our liver transplant team, in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in the management of pre and post-transplant patients with metabolic disorders. This physician will also support our General Genetics and dysmorphology program (working with Dr. Aditi Dagli). These patients typically include children who are referred after a genetic disorder has been diagnosed by another physician and children who exhibit symptoms that suggest a possible genetic disorder, including birth defects, differences in physical features, failure to thrive, seizures and developmental delay.
