AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and broadly-skilled Family Medicine physician with a passion for teaching. This doctor would serve as one of the key faculty members in an academic role within the Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program. He or she would focus on outpatient medicine while teaching our residents and medical students. The physician's duties will include rotating between their own personal clinic and precepting residents in an outpatient setting. Ideal candidate would have experience in private or academic medicine, demonstrate leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not necessary.
This well-established residency program is based at AdventHealth East Orlando, a 293 bed facility that is part of one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. The Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency at AdventHealth East Orlando, which has been training residents for over 30 years, is among the most progressive training programs in the osteopathic profession. The foundation for our family medicine residency is derived from the dedication of our faculty, continuity family medicine and pediatric clinics, didactic programs and innovative technology. We teach eight new residents each academic year, fellows in the "Plus One" NMM program, and osteopathic medical students. AdventHealth Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital, in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic and experienced, board-certified Gastroenterologist to serve as Program Director and launch the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. This employment opportunity is for a gastroenterologist who has a passion for teaching. This position would lead a state-of-the-art program based at a tertiary facility of 1289 beds. Ranked by US News and World Report, Florida Hospital has consistently been awarded “Best Hospital” in the state of Florida.
AdventHealth would like to continue developing its emerging institute for Digestive Health under the direction of the new program director. Using the institute framework to connect the digestive health services and drive a coordinated approach will be crucial in developing these service lines. As part of this gastroenterology development, the fellowship program is an integral part of this growth. The new program director will not only lead the fellowship from infancy but will outline a vision related to our gastroenterology department. The ideal candidate should have several years of academic experience, leadership over a GI section, and program development experience.
Anticipated to launch in 2020, this approved program will accept two fellows per year, working with faculty from across our digestive health institute.
Ideal candidate should bring a vision to increase academic activity including research, posters, and presentations. Dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of Florida Hospital are required.
Requirements: Minimum of five years’ faculty experience as a Program Director or an Associate Program Director. Physician must be board certified in Gastroenterology through the ABMS.
