AdventHealth Centra Care is seeking a dynamic and energetic APP to join our urgent care team in Central Florida. With locations in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, and Lake counties Centra Care has over 30 clinics in the greater Orlando area, with continued growth planned for 2024 and beyond.

This employment opportunity is a full-time, salaried position with an active and expanding clinical service with the Centra Care group. We specialize in family medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, and corporate medicine. Each of our urgent care centers provides patients with seven day a week access to walk-in services, including on-site x-ray. The position is on a two-week schedule rotation, working Monday (8am-8pm), Tuesday (8am-8pm), Friday (8am-8pm), and Saturday (8am-5pm) in week 1, and Sunday (8am-5pm), Wednesday (8am-8pm) and Thursday (8am-8pm) in week 2.

We are looking for PA’s and APRN’s to serve as members of our expanding critical care team. The APP assist in management of critically ill patients in our closed ICU. The ideal candidate would apply specialized skills and knowledge related to ICU settings to contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization.

General Summary:

The APP under the supervision and direction of the Physician and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital: (other duties as assigned)

• Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings

• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners.

Opportunity in Critical Care – AdventHealth Lake Wales

AdventHealth Lake Wales in Lake Wales, Florida, is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Critical Care team. The APP will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to critically ill patients within the ICU setting. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and providing ongoing care and monitoring of patients. Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the ICU team.
  • Perform procedures as needed, including intubations, central line placements, and other critical care interventions.
  • Collaborate with AdventHealth 24/7 Tele-Intensivists on patient care
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and care plans.
  • Provide documentation and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care coordination and decision-making.
  • Respond to and manage acute changes in patient conditions and emergencies.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols within the ICU.

Ideal candidate should expect:

  • 12-hour shift spanning 12 PM - 12 AM
  • ICU is a partially closed ICU as consults with ICU are required for a patient to be admitted
  • Proficiency with procedures required
  • Confident in managing ICU patients without Critical Care Attending on-site

Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care: Pediatric

Clinical Responsibility

  • Performs admissions, consultations, and daily care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric ICU setting.
  • Perform procedures including central venous lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and endotracheal intubation.
  • Managing medical and post-operative ICU patients
  • Conditions treated: Respiratory Disease, Liver Failure/ Transplants, Multi-system organ failure, Uncontrolled/ New Onset Diabetes, Neuro-surgery patients and varying level of acuity and medical conditions. ECMO (preferred). No post operative cardiac care
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, etc.

For more than a decade the Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at Orlando has provided treatment and successful therapy for a variety of blood-related cancers and diseases. Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at Orlando has treated more than 500 blood and marrow transplants. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity available in Altamonte, FL. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU and newborn nursery. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 10-bed level 2 NICU and newborn nursery service at Altamonte.

General Summary:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team
  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician
  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws
  • Ensuring proper feeding and basic care

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner opportunity available in the Orlando, Florida area. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal APRN to work in our 102 single room NICU at AdventHealth Orlando.

We have several Neonatologists and NNPs/PAs during daytime and have an in-house Neonatologist and two NNPs/PAs at night. This busy NICU provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to sick neonates. We have a variety of sub-specialists support e.g. Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Radiology, Neurology, Neuro-surgery etc. Our team is well supported by dedicated respiratory therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, social workers and case managers. Our campus also has a Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Cardiac ICU.

Our NICU features leading edge technologies, including nitric oxide therapy, hypothermia management, neonatal surgeries etc. We have an active Neonatal transport team with ability to use inhaled Nitric Oxide and therapeutic hypothermia during transport.

We are seeking Neonatal Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to join our Neonatal team.

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist

We are seeking Neonatal Advanced Practice Registered Nurses or Physician Assistants to join our Neonatal team 

  • The APRN/PA is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice 
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist 
  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team 
  • This position consists of a combination day, night, and weekend shifts

Required Education: 

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing with Neonatology focus, or Master’s Degree in physician assistant studies with a focus in Neonatology
