Location: Orlando Area, FL - Specialty: Hospice and Palliative Medicine

AdventHealth Hospice Care is seeking Hospice Team Physicians to oversee the medical components of the Hospice plan of care for each patient admitted to their team.  This physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team will focus on collaboration and delivering the highest level of patient care.  Our interdisciplinary teams consist of:  RN Case Manager, CNA, Social Worker, Patient Care Manager and Chaplain.

We are looking for two Team Physicians.  One physician will manage and have oversight of patients specifically within Long Term Care facilities and the other will manage and oversee patients throughout the noted service area of Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties. 

AdventHealth Hospice Care is the only non-profit, local experts in compassionate, end-of-life care, serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties since 1990.  Our team provides individualized care and support to patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because we are owned by AdventHealth, you have the full backing of our world-renowned hospital system.

Requirements for this position:

  • MD or DO
  • Ability to receive an unrestricted Florida Medical License
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or ABMS specialty certification
  • Preferred but not required: Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care 
  • Eligible to participate as a provider in the Medicare and Medicaid programs (including any successor program to either)

Summary of responsibilities (not limited to the following):

  • Team physicians are responsible for the management of patients on 2 teams, including managing medication needs/cost per patient. Each team consists of 70-90 patients
  • Monday – Friday 8am-5pm schedule:  will rotate nightly call coverage
  • Responsible for medication management including e-prescribing of medications daily.
  • Attends weekly team meetings as the medical director of the team, reviewing all patient management needs
  • Completing all certificates of terminal illness narratives for the team for each new admission.
  • Completing death certificates for patients assigned to team
  • Receives calls from admission nurses and patient care managers regarding eligibility, orders, and plan of care
  • Manages family matters including family conferences relating to current patients.
  • Communicates with team members and community physicians in regard to current and future patients
  • Conducting visits to patients in their home setting on an as needed basis
  • Educates team members on medical topics and inquiries

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Internal Medicine, Academic

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dynamic and hardworking physician to serve as a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Based at the tertiary hospital just north of downtown Orlando, this Internal Medicine Residency Program accepts 12 new residents each academic year. Internal medicine subspecialties (Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology) are needed in our system and would be considered along with general internists/hospitalists for the core faculty position. The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient and inpatient setting as well as seeing private patients and developing research projects in conjunction with residents and other faculty. Physician candidate would be considered core faculty and would need to be broadly skilled in Internal Medicine. Mix of general medicine and subspecialty practice will be individualized based on candidate’s experience. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills. We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic medical geneticist to join our team at AdventHealth Medical Genetics & Genomics clinic-Orlando. Successful candidate would join our two other physicians and genetic counselors and continue to grow our program working within our multidisciplinary teams of experienced clinicians in (pediatric and adult) cardiology, gastroenterology, general pediatrics, hematology/oncology, MFM, neurology and transplantation surgery. We aspire to provide comprehensive state of the art genetic and genomic services to all patients within the AdventHealth system (locally, regionally and nationally).

The new physician would have the ability to work in both an outpatient and inpatient setting along with fulfilling personal research and teaching interests. Requirements include board eligibility or board certification in Clinical Genetics through the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics. 

Our physicians are working directly with our state-of-the-art neonatology and pediatric liver transplant programs to develop a metabolic disorders program at AdventHealth for Children that will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with various metabolic diseases.

AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute, and AdventHealth Medical Group (formerly Florida Hospital) are seeking  General Neurologists for our expanding program in Central Florida.  New physician would join with our existing team of neurologists to provide General Neurology care with our current openings at our Winter Park and Apopka outpatient clinics. Cerebral vascular disease background and follow up clinic interest is preferred but not required. 

We are growing into one comprehensive team that will help to grow outpatient practices as well as provide limited inpatient coverage among our nine-hospital system in Orlando.  This general neurology role would join our subspecialty leaders in movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuroimmunology, behavioral and memory disorders, and headache medicine in a growing destination neurology program that treats patients and contributes to the body of knowledge through research.

AdventHealth Orlando is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute with a new Brain Health flagship building opening in 2022.  Our Neuro Critical Care Fellowship was accredited by the UCNS in early 2019.  Our Neuroscience Institute at AdventHealth Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  AdventHealth Orlando has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). AdventHealth Neurology and Neurosurgery is a top 15 program in US News & World Report year after year.

AdventHealth also has an advanced comprehensive stroke center providing endovascular procedures 24/7. Our neurosurgery program performed more craniotomy and spine surgery than any other hospitals in Florida. AdventHealth is looking for a dynamic and energetic Movement Disorders Medical Director to help continue to grow our expanding program in Central Florida.  We are growing into one comprehensive team that will focus this outpatient program around our eighteen hospitals system in our Central Florida Division totaling over 4000 beds.  The new medical director would provide subspecialty care and work with our multidisciplinary team including functional neurosurgery, neuro radiology, neuro pathology and neuropsychology.   Position will be structured with majority of clinical time with some portion of administrative time as well.   The new physician would join with our existing team of neurology subspecialty leaders in Neuromuscular, Headache, Neuroimmunology, and Behavioral Neurology.

General Summary:

  • The Pediatric APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric ICU and Cardiac ICU setting, including intubation, ventilator management and other procedures that may be required
  • Managing medical and post-operative ICU patients
  • Conditions treated: Congenital Heart Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Oncology, Epilepsy, Complex Medical, Liver Transplant
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, etc.

  • 1-3 years in experience as a Pediatric APRN or PA-C in an ICU, acute care or ER setting
  • Cardiac ICU experience as an RN (Highly Preferred)
  • Experience with ECMO (Highly Preferred)

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida APRN license (or eligibility to obtain FL licensure)
