AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education in Winter Park, Florida is looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and broadly skilled PRN Geriatrician with a passion for teaching. This doctor would serve as one of the key faculty members in an academic role within the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship program associated with both Internal and Family Medicine Residency Programs. He or she would focus on outpatient medicine and nursing home care while teaching our fellows, residents and medical students. The physician's duties will include his or her own personal clinic, leading comprehensive geriatric assessment clinic and nursing home rounds with fellows, residents and medical students, giving didactic lectures, and evaluating learners.
The ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, demonstrate leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital.
The AdventHealth Geriatric Medicine fellowship began in 1998 and currently enjoys full ACGME accreditation. The geriatric fellowship program seeks to train Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine Physicians in all facets of clinical geriatrics over a period of twelve months. The overall experience includes in-patient, out-patient, skilled nursing facilities over two nursing homes, assisted living, independent retirement complex, geriatric psychiatry, hospice care, home visits, rehabilitation, social services, community outreach, geriatric pharmacy, and more. Faculty are involved with the teaching of the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residents, Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellows, and medical and physician assistant students from Florida State University and Loma Linda University.
