AdventHealth Medical Group and AdventHealth DeLand (formerly known as Florida Hospital DeLand) are looking for a dynamic and energetic, BE/BC Gynecologist to start a new practice to serve the patients of a charming community housing Stetson University, a new master planned community and a downtown lined with boutiques and outdoor cafes. This position is based in DeLand, Florida, about 40 minutes north of downtown Orlando.  This employment opportunity is for a physician who has a passion for clinical excellence and be willing to build a patient base within the local community. Physician should have a desire to practice general gynecology and perform  surgery at one hospital with access to multiple specialties within the area.

The practice is a part of AdventHealth Medical Group.  This is an employment opportunity that includes the benefits of call coverage and competitive compensation with a productivity model. AdventHealth Cancer Institute, formerly Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, is looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and experienced oncologist to lead our Breast Medical Oncology Program.  The Breast Oncology Medical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda.  This position will also provide leadership to achieve clinical quality improvement outcomes, as well as to achieve efficiency of care improvement outcomes.  AdventHealth Cancer Institute in the Central Florida area sees over 1000 newly diagnosed breast cancer cases each year. 

The Medical Director will collaborate with academia, industry and physicians to advance innovation through clinical trials and will provide leadership to advance patient experience outcomes. The position is based in Orlando, Florida and is part of our Cancer Institute, with locations across a regional network of 8 hospitals. 

A majority of this position is administrative time, with a portion of clinical work as well.  This practice is a part of AdventHealth Medical Group, formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group. AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a dynamic, energetic and team-oriented fellowship trained hematologist oncologist to join AdventHealth Medical Group at our AdventHealth Winter Park location, just minutes outside of downtown Orlando.  This opportunity would provide inpatient and outpatient services to that community seeing a variety of oncology patients.  The ideal candidate will have experience with practice building in a new market and seeing a variety of hem malignancies and solid tumor patients.  Rotation of call would be shared with the other physicians in the practice including weekends.

AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and team-oriented fellowship trained hematologist oncologist to join AdventHealth Medical Group in Orlando.  Training and/or board certification in Palliative Medicine is strongly preferred.  This position would focus primarily within the inpatient setting at AdventHealth Orlando, providing a daily consultative service and coverage within our 36 bed hematology/oncology floor.   The ideal candidate will have experience and interest with an inpatient setting seeing a variety of hem malignancies, solid tumor along with palliative medicine.  Rotation of call would be shared with the other oncology physicians in the practice, including weekends. Inpatient coverage would also comprise of a team of advanced practice providers and support from the other physicians within the practice.

A Palliative Medicine background would function in accordance with the hematology/oncology inpatient management to better serve our patients in a more robust and comprehensive manner.  The physician may help guide inpatient consultation services, when necessary, of the interdisciplinary team of advanced practitioners, chaplain, pharmacist and social workers.  Our Palliative Medicine program has an AAHPM fellowship so teaching, mentorship and scholarly work is valued.

AdventHealth is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and clinically focused Blood and Marrow Transplant physician to join our program based in Orlando, Florida. This physician would have the opportunity to continue to help build a nationally leading program along with our three physicians, focused in the expansion of our growing BMT/Acute Leukemia/Cell Therapy program.

Our FACT-accredited, active BMT program continues to grow. In 2019 we performed approximately 150 transplants, including haplo.  Our outcomes have met or exceeded the national average over the last 10 years.  We have 32 dedicated beds on a new, state-of-the art inpatient unit, and we perform all donor source transplants including, autologous, allogeneic, cord blood, and Haplo-transplants.  We participate in transplant related NCI sponsored trials, CALGB and BMT Clinical Trial Network studies. We have a clinical trials office, dedicated research nurse, data manager, and data coordinators with opportunities and resources for investigator-initiated trials.

The Blood and Marrow Transplant Center at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute has performed more than 1500 blood and marrow transplants, providing successful therapy and treatment for a variety of conditions including aplastic anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and bone marrow failure syndromes.

The BMTC practice is nationally recognized for our pioneering work and we are Central Florida’s first and only comprehensive blood and marrow transplant program for both adult and pediatric patients. 

We are the only CART program in Central Florida with a focus on continued expansion of cellular therapy options for patients with hematologic and solid malignancies. 

A recent joint collaborative partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center will focus on achieving NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center status and the expansion of clinical and translational research opportunities for transplant physicians.

  • Physician applicant must have experience in both allogeneic and autologous transplants or have completed a BMT fellowship.

Location: Orlando Area, FL - Specialty: Hospice and Palliative Medicine

 AdventHealth Hospice Care is seeking a Hospice Team Physicians to oversee the medical components of the Hospice plan of care for each patient admitted to their team. This physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team will focus on collaboration and delivering the highest level of patient care. Our interdisciplinary teams consist of: RN Case Manager, CNA, Social Worker, Patient Care Manager and Chaplain.

The physician will manage and have oversight of patients within Long Term Care facilities along with oversight of patients in their home throughout the noted service area of Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties.

AdventHealth Hospice Care is the only non-profit, local experts in compassionate, end-of-life care, serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties since 1990. Our team provides individualized care and support to patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because we are owned by AdventHealth, you have the full backing of our world-renowned hospital system. This position would be in and near several beautiful Central Florida Suburbs ie. Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Maitland, Longwood, and Winter Park. While not working one can enjoy our nearby beaches, natural springs, lakes, shopping, dining and we of course have to mention our local theme parks including Disney and Universal! 

Requirements for this position: 

  • MD or DO
  • Ability to receive an unrestricted Florida Medical License
  • Preferred but not required: Board certification or training in Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Eligible to participate as a provider in the Medicare and Medicaid programs (including any successor program to either)

Summary of responsibilities (not limited to the following):

  • Team physicians are responsible for the management of patients on 2 teams, including managing medication needs/cost per patient. Each team consists of 70-90 patients
  • Monday - Friday 8am-5pm schedule, primarily managing patient care over the phone: will rotate nightly call coverage
  • Responsible for medication management including e-prescribing of medications daily.
  • Attends weekly team meetings as the medical director of the team, reviewing all patient management needs
  • Completing all certificates of terminal illness narratives for the team for each new admission.
  • Completing death certificates for patients assigned to team
  • Receives calls from admission nurses and patient care managers regarding eligibility, orders, and plan of care
  • Manages family matters including family conferences relating to current patients.
  • Communicates with team members and community physicians in regards to current and future patients
  • Conducting visits to patients in their home or long term care setting on an as needed basis
  • Educates team members on medical topics and inquiries

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Medical Genetics

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic medical geneticist to join our team at AdventHealth Medical Genetics & Genomics clinic-Orlando. Successful candidate would join our two other physicians and genetic counselors and continue to grow our program working within our multidisciplinary teams of experienced clinicians in (pediatric and adult) cardiology, gastroenterology, general pediatrics, hematology/oncology, MFM, neurology and transplantation surgery. We aspire to provide comprehensive state of the art genetic and genomic services to all patients within the AdventHealth system (locally, regionally and nationally).

The new physician would have the ability to work in both an outpatient and inpatient setting along with fulfilling personal research and teaching interests. Requirements include board eligibility or board certification in Clinical Genetics through the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics. 

Our physicians are working directly with our state-of-the-art neonatology and pediatric liver transplant programs to develop a metabolic disorders program at AdventHealth for Children that will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with various metabolic diseases.

New physician would join an existing team of neurologists to provide General Neurology care at our DeLand outpatient clinic. Practice is located next to AdventHealth DeLand. This employment opportunity is for a physician who has a passion for clinical excellence and desires to exclusively practice outpatient only neurology as inpatient care is provided by our Neuro Hospitalist team.

AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute and AdventHealth Medical Group are seeking  a fellowship trained Behavioral Neurologist for our expanding program in Central Florida. Open to background and training in Geriatric Psychiatry – will need experience working with patients in Alzheimer’s  disease and dementia + related conditions. New physician would join with our existing team of neurologists and lead Behavioral Neurology care at our Winter Park outpatient clinic. 

The medical director will work to achieve top quartile performance in the care of patients with cognitive and behavioral disease, such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  They will participate/lead innovative research that is publishable, design business models that combine both evidence-based medicine and patient care pathways that support efficient flow, reduction in costs and excellent patient outcomes. The Medical Director is responsible for providing direction for the development and clinical performance of the Behavioral Neurology Program with areas of focus in: Program Building; Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement; and Innovation, Teaching and Research.

We are growing into one comprehensive team that will help to grow outpatient practices.  The behavioral neurologist would join our already existing subspecialty leaders in movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuroimmunology, and headache medicine in a growing destination neurology program that treats patients and contributes to the body of knowledge through research. We also have an expanding team of general neurology as well across the system.

AdventHealth Orlando is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute with a new Brain Health flagship building opening in 2022.  Our Neuro Critical Care Fellowship was accredited by the UCNS in early 2019.  Our Neuroscience Institute at AdventHealth Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  AdventHealth Orlando has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). AdventHealth Neurology and Neurosurgery is a top 15 program in US News & World Report year after year.

AdventHealth also has an advanced comprehensive stroke center providing endovascular procedures 24/7. Our neurosurgery program performed more craniotomy and spine surgery than any other hospitals in Florida. Our minimally invasive brain surgery program is one of the best in the state and draws patients nationally and internationally.  We also have a fully developed DBS program.    

Note: Physician must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology. Open to background and training in Geriatric Psychiatry – will need experience working with patients in Alzheimer’s  disease and dementia + related conditions.

The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for a dynamic and energetic pediatric neurologist to join a fast growing multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience program to help further develop general and subspecialty neuroscience programs. 

Currently, the pediatric neuroscience center at AdventHealth for Children has a level IV comprehensive epilepsy center, sleep center, multidisciplinary neurofibromatosis clinic, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex clinic, congenital neurosurgery clinic, and craniofacial clinic supported by a strong group of neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists.  The hospital has a 20 bed dedicated neuroscience inpatient unit with an embedded 8 bed epilepsy monitoring unit which will grow to 24 beds in a newly renovated neuroscience floor.  Diagnostic facility includes a state-of-art 3T MRIs, PET, SPECT, and MEG center.  

Responsibilities of the new physician will include our comprehensive general neurology service in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Subspecialty program interests can certainly be developed as well (neuromuscular, neonatal, neurocutaneous syndrome, movement disorder, and spasticity).
