AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dynamic and hardworking physician Infectious Disease physician to serve as a member of a new adult academic ID practice. Based at the tertiary hospital just north of downtown Orlando, the physician's duties consist of providing inpatient and outpatient consultations in general infectious diseases, primarily for an academic medical service that includes residents and medical students in a variety of specialties including internal medicine and general surgery. A strong emphasis will be placed on teaching in clinical and didactic settings. Research and quality improvement projects in conjunction with residents and other faculty is encouraged. In addition to usual outpatient ID consultations, activities would include services for long covid, international travel pre- and post-care as well as an outpatient parenteral infusion center. As a tertiary center, potential to provide ID consultations for special populations include solid organ and bone marrow transplant patients. Non-clinical time will also be allocated to help further develop the infection control and prevention programs as well as antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship.
