AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a dynamic and quality focused physician leader to enthusiastically lead our growing team of hospitalists who currently cover our 5 CMS and Leapfrog highly rated AdventHealth hospitals within Volusia and Lake counties.

We are seeking a physician leader with a collaborate leadership style who will model and lead excellence in clinical practice, doctor-patient relationships, and professionalism while maintaining AdventHealth’ s Mission, Vision, Values; with the goal of building a stable cohesive team that interacts seamlessly with patients, hospital medical staff, nursing, administration, and ancillary staff. The Regional Hospitalist Medical Director is the representative of the programs and must be enthusiastically engaged with all stakeholders.

AdventHealth Medical Group’s hospitalist team covers 5 AdventHealth hospitals, each hospital is supported with a designated Director and Assistant Director to help lead and oversee each campus’s team.

Schedule for the regional medical director Monday through Friday with primary administrative responsibilities and participation in clinical patient care, minimally two times a month rotating at each of the campuses, with the exception of AdventHealth Fish Memorial.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of quality improvement projects, to ensure compliance with hospital quality of care and safety programs meet all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Developing program goals and strategic plans.
  • Collaborate with Regional/Site Leadership to coordinate care during emergencies.
  • Conducting ongoing individual assessments of providers.
  • Serve as Network Operations Council (NOC) representative for hospitalist medicine.
  • Monitor regional staffing trends and provide guidance on staffing needs. 
  • Ensure consistent and appropriate orientation is provided for all new providers. 
  • Provide oversight, mentoring and direction to Hospitalist Medical Directors and Assistant Medical Directors. Identify and mentor future leaders. 
  • Chair and conduct monthly Hospitalist Operations Council meetings with all Hospitalist Leaders to discuss operational, financial, and quality updates/initiatives. 
  • Meet with Hospital Executive Leadership regularly to provide feedback of services rendered, performance outcomes, quality improvement processes and overall patient satisfaction.  Provide updates to stakeholders as requested. 
  • Represent AHMG for corporate medical initiatives.
  • Working with medical group and hospital leadership to assist with operational efficiencies and budget cost management.
  • Implement appropriate tracking systems for success measures and reports as required.
  • Development of educational programs related to the hospitalist providers.

AdventHealth Medical Group High Risk Pregnancy at Orlando is seeking an eighth BC Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to join a state-of-the-art program in Central Florida. Our practice consists of six full time and one part time MFM physician and a perinatal NP. We are part of AdventHealth Medical Group which employs 900+ physicians in 60+ specialties. Our primary office is at AdventHealth Orlando, with satellite offices and remote imaging centers around the area including Altamonte Springs, Celebration, Lake Mary, Daytona, Lake Nona & Melbourne, Florida. 

Practice is 100% consultative with ultrasound interpretations, standard MFM procedures and pregnancy and pre-pregnancy consults in inpatient and outpatient settings. No in-house night call or deliveries. In the outpatient arena, we provide a variety of services including direct patient care with consults and ultrasounds in our primary office, telemedicine consults, ultrasound interpretation from scans at remote sites, and direct patient care in our multiple satellite offices. We round on inpatients only at our main medical campus, AdventHealth Orlando.  We provide telemedicine inpatient consults at the 7 local AdventHealth hospitals with the assistance of our perinatal NP.  There is a new Ob/Gyn residency program located at the AdventHealth Orlando campus starting 7/2023 with opportunities to teach residents and medical students. The established OB hospitalist group provides in-house 24/7 coverage. This job offers a very unique structure to allow for work/life balance in the beautiful and growing community of Orlando, Florida. 

Deliveries at our AdventHealth Hospitals in Central Florida exceed 12,000 annually, which gives us a large and stable referral base. There is an extensive, well-developed NICU network including multiple Level II and one Level III NICU to support these deliveries. Our center employs over 100 pediatric subspecialists for collaboration of care. Our hospital runs a Coordinated Care for Kids program to connect moms-to-be with the right specialists in MFM, OB, neonatology, genetics, and the pediatric subspecialty groups. We participate in joint monthly committee meetings (with neonatologists and OB-GYN’s) which helps foster a strong relationship between our team and these service lines.

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic medical geneticist to join our team at AdventHealth Medical Genetics & Genomics clinic-Orlando. Successful candidate would join our two other physicians and genetic counselors and continue to grow our program working within our multidisciplinary teams of experienced clinicians in (pediatric and adult) cardiology, gastroenterology, general pediatrics, hematology/oncology, MFM, neurology and transplantation surgery. We aspire to provide comprehensive state of the art genetic and genomic services to all patients within the AdventHealth system (locally, regionally and nationally).

The new physician would have the ability to work in both an outpatient and inpatient setting along with fulfilling personal research and teaching interests. Requirements include board eligibility or board certification in Clinical Genetics through the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics.

The neonatologist would be responsible for all admissions, procedures, medical management while also leading out multidisciplinary rounds within the Level 3 NICU at AdventHealth Tampa. The schedule would consist of a rotating shift model allowing for continuity and flexibility amongst the team of four physicians and neonatal nurse practitioners.

AdventHealth for Children is looking for a Neonatologist to be the dedicated physician at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. One of our partner affiliates, Cape Canaveral Hospital is a 150 bed hospital on the east coast of Florida, approximately 50 minutes from Orlando. Responsibilities of the new physician will include: On call from home for deliveries and C sections after daily rounds. Daily coverage and rounding on babies in newborn nursery. Higher acuity infants are stabilized and transferred. Hospital averages approximately 600-700 births per year with an average daily census of 6-7 patients. NO STATE INCOME TAX!! Signing bonus, relocation, and set base compensation with an incentive plan make this an appealing position for the right physician! AdventHealth Cancer Institute (AHCI) based in Orlando, Florida, is looking for a dynamic leader to serve as Medical Director of our Neuro-Oncology program.  This experienced, innovative, and energetic leader will help grow our program and manage neuro-oncology patients in our busy, high-volume practice (we have over 100 gliomas per year). The practice includes a dedicated social worker and dedicated chemotherapy nurse, with multiple satellites for chemo infusion at various locations.  AHCI also has a Gamma Knife, stereotactic radiosurgery, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy, and an extensive, statewide radiation oncology program, including a CNS-trained radiation oncologist.

Ideal Medical Director Skills and Expertise include:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience post-Fellowship training  
  • Neurology Residency with Neuro-Oncology Fellowship or Heme/Onc boarded with Neuro-Oncology Fellowship (UCNS eligible or boarded)
  • A “thought leader” in the area of Neuro-Oncology
  • Published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters
  • Experience in providing clinical education/training in area of specialty
  • Experience in implementing and participating in cancer clinical trials

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Neurology, Behavioral

AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute and AdventHealth Medical Group are seeking a fellowship trained Behavioral Neurologist for our expanding program in Central Florida. We are open to training backgrounds in the following: Neurology residency with fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology; Geriatric psychiatry with expertise in Alzheimer's Disease; or finally Psychiatry residency with fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology.  New physician would join with our existing team of neurologists and lead Behavioral Neurology care at our Winter Park outpatient clinic. 

The medical director will work to achieve top quartile performance in the care of patients with cognitive and behavioral disease, such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  They will participate/lead innovative research that is publishable, design business models that combine both evidence-based medicine and patient care pathways that support efficient flow, reduction in costs and excellent patient outcomes. The Medical Director is responsible for providing direction for the development and clinical performance of the Behavioral Neurology Program with areas of focus in: Program Building; Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement; and Innovation, Teaching and Research.

We are growing into one comprehensive team that will help to grow outpatient practices.  The behavioral neurologist would join our already existing subspecialty leaders in movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuroimmunology, and headache medicine in a growing destination neurology program that treats patients and contributes to the body of knowledge through research. We also have an expanding team of general neurology as well across the system.

AdventHealth Orlando is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute with a new Brain Health flagship building opening in 2022.  Our Neuro Critical Care Fellowship was accredited by the UCNS in early 2019.  Our Neuroscience Institute at AdventHealth Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  AdventHealth Orlando has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). AdventHealth Neurology and Neurosurgery is a top 15 program in US News & World Report year after year.

AdventHealth also has an advanced comprehensive stroke center providing endovascular procedures 24/7. Our neurosurgery program performed more craniotomy and spine surgery than any other hospitals in Florida. Our minimally invasive brain surgery program is one of the best in the state and draws patients nationally and internationally.  We also have a fully developed DBS program.

The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for a dynamic and energetic pediatric neurologist to join a fast growing multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience program to help further develop general and subspecialty neuroscience programs. 

Currently, the pediatric neuroscience center at AdventHealth for Children has a level IV comprehensive epilepsy center, sleep center, multidisciplinary neurofibromatosis clinic, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex clinic, congenital neurosurgery clinic, and craniofacial clinic supported by a strong group of neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists.  The hospital has a 20 bed dedicated neuroscience inpatient unit with an embedded 8 bed epilepsy monitoring unit which will grow to 24 beds in a newly renovated neuroscience floor.  Diagnostic facility includes a state-of-art 3T MRIs, PET, SPECT, and MEG center.  

Responsibilities of the new physician will include our comprehensive general neurology service in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Subspecialty program interests can certainly be developed as well (neuromuscular, neonatal, neurocutaneous syndrome, movement disorder, and spasticity).
