AdventHealth Medical Group, formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group, is looking for a dynamic and energetic cardiac electrophysiologist to join our comprehensive cardiology group at AdventHealth East Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital East Orlando.  This physician will help grow a new market in East Orlando in association with three other physicians. Responsibilities will include non invasive general cardiology along with EP.  New physician would also have call coverage at the East Orlando hospital in rotation with practice partners and other community cardiology physicians.  

Requirements for the position:  Board Certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty board certification in Cardiovascular Disease.  Formal fellowship in Electrophysiology also required.  High caliber, quality focused, innovative physicians should apply.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is seeking a dynamic, fellowship-trained transplant advanced heart failure cardiologist to join the thoracic transplant team.   The new cardiologist would work in an exciting and thriving CMS approved transplant program with full hospital support.   Physician would have the benefit of cross coverage for transplant call and work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers.  The Transplant Institute also offers a vibrant and growing Ventricular Assist Device program as well and a fully developed ECMO program.   Volumes in 2018 included 55 transplants and 68 VAD’s and we are a top ten transplant center in the US for the last two years.    

Requirements of the position include: 

  • Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant

This cardiologist must be proficient in all forms of diagnostic testing including nuclear and ultrasound modalities, trans esophageal echo and diagnostic cardiac catheterization.  Responsibilities will involve both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care. AdventHealth Medical Group formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group is looking for two dynamic and energetic invasive/noninvasive (non-interventional) cardiologists to join our team at AdventHealth Celebration (website).    These cardiologists must be proficient in performing nuclear tests and preferably TEE’s.  This employed opportunity would total four cardiologists to start as we launch a new Acute MI/PCI program at AdventHealth Celebration formerly Florida Hospital CelebrationHealth, led by Dr. Rohit Bhatheja.  Practice in a beautiful location, approximately 30 minutes south of downtown Orlando.  This would be an excellent opportunity to help start and grow a program in a hospital with over 80,000 emergency visits per year and the closest hospital in proximity to Walt Disney World.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Hospital-Based Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/ Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) functions in the specialty area of obstetric medicine in an expanded role to manage a caseload of patients with consultation, collaboration and general supervision from a physician in a hospital-based role.  This care is provided within the APRN's specialty area and setting, and scope of practice. Utilizing the extensive knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology and physiology acquired, exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of certain delegated medical processes and procedures.  The Hospital-Based APRN is additionally involved in education, consultation and research at various levels.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates pregnant and postpartum women in triage.
  • Performs the nursing duties related to midwifery including labor and delivery care, care after birth, and newborn care.
  • Educates women about different types of care available and encourages them to enhance their pregnancy by being involved.  
  • Orders, interprets and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies and lab values into the plan of care; evaluates effectiveness.
  • Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical examination and clinical findings.
  • Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges.
  • Serves as OB/GYN team member working closely with physicians and other staff to ensure healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
  • Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges.
  • Emphasizes patient education, active participation, clear communication between the provider and the women, and an individualized health care experience.
  •  Advocates birth education, natural childbirth, and the participation of the entire family.
  • Teaches patients about all aspects of an infant’s reaction to its environment including but not limited to breast feeding and bonding.  
  • Communicates and documents pertinent case information in a timely and thorough manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of midwifery principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods ensuring safe working environment for patient, family, and staff including using appropriate personal protection equipment.
  • Knowledge of theories of family dynamics, mother-child attachment, parenting, and adult learning concepts.
  • Schedule is Full Time nights, 15 – 12hr shifts a month

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing or related field
  • Minimum three years of experience as RN including Labor and Delivery
  • one year as midwife in hospital setting. 

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience as midwife in hospital setting
  • 3 years’ experience as nurse in hospital setting

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Certification of Nurse Midwifery (CNM) program accredited by American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)
  • ACLS

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Critical Care

AdventHealth Medical Group - AHMG, (formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group) is looking for dynamic physicians to be a part of our critical care team focused in our Cardiovascular ICU.  Physicians will have responsibility at AdventHealth Orlando to cover the CVICU unit with our Medical Director and physician extender assistance. The patient mix includes heart and lung transplants, mechanical assist devices and general cardiac and thoracic surgery.   Set schedule/shifts, competitive salary/benefits, a collegial cross-coverage team and working within one of the busiest cardiac and thoracic surgical hospitals in the country are just some of the attractive aspects of this opportunity.

Given the candidate’s interests and preference on schedule, the group would also be open to hiring a Nocturnist for the CVICU.  The Nocturnist position would come with a slightly different schedule and overall package.

Ideal candidates will have two years experience in Critical Care Medicine, although new fellowship grads will be considered as well. 14 shifts per month will provide full time benefits. AdventHealth Medical Group - AHMG, (formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group)is seeking an experienced, board-certified neuro critical care physician to join our critical care team.  This individual would be based at AdventHealth Orlando, which is a 1,368-bed tertiary facility, with approximately 160 ICU beds.  Our Neuro Critical Care unit is currently 28 beds, with capacity to increase to 40 beds. AdventHealth is continuing to grow its comprehensive and successful 24/7 ICU closed model.

AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital, is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute. We are planning for a new Neuro Critical Care Fellowship with an anticipated to launch in 2019.  This fellowship will accept two fellows per year. The ideal candidate is expected to help develop and/or lead this academic program. In addition, the ideal candidate would also be able to lead our efforts in neurocritical care research, care analytics, quality and outcomes. Our Neuroscience Institute program consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds, with 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT.

Note: Physicians must be board certified/eligible in the UCNS subspecialty of Neuro Critical Care Medicine. Group is open to Anesthesiology, Pulmonology, Internal Medicine and Neurology.
