General Summary:

The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Performs history and physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of surgical oncology patients primarily in the inpatient setting at our Orlando campus.

General Summary:

The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of breast surgery patients, including all aspects of peri-operative care from performing patient histories and daily rounds to invasive surgical procedures.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physicians is responsible for:

  • Performs patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting
  • Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required
  • Performs first assistant duties.
  • Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon, often assisting several surgeons in a single practice
  • Has exacting knowledge of each surgeon's idiosyncrasies to expedite the procedure and limit patient morbidity and mortality
  • Uses knowledge of medical model to promote synergistic relationship between physician and PA
  • Post-op- Writes orders in the recovery room, talks with family, visits patients, performs post op procedures and more
  • Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explain discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more

Physician Assistant, Surgical: Pediatrics

We are seeking a Certified Physician Assistant, PA-C to join a growing program and practice. The role involves direct care for infants, children, teenagers, and adults with congenital heart disease. The PA-C would work in outpatient and inpatient settings. Also, he/she will assist in the OR during surgery. The position involves collaboration between pediatric cardiology teams, neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, and inpatient cardiology. All services would be under the supervision of the heart surgeons.

Our practice is led by world renown congenital heart surgeons at the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth Orlando.

Experience in Congenital Heart Surgery is not required however, surgical experience outside of PA training will be required. Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22 bed PICU, 10 bed Cardiac ICU, 102 NICU beds at FHFC, with an extensive network of four other Level II NICU’s that bring our total number of NICU beds to over 150, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program. Our unparalleled network consists of 26 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.

AdventHealth Medical Group Pediatric Surgery at Tampa is looking for a surgical physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing pediatric surgery team in the greater Tampa area. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working with a supervising physician in an inpatient and outpatient setting. In addition, the ideal candidate should have a good surgical foundation as well as first assist and pediatric experience.

General Summary:

The PA-C/APRN works as a collaborative practitioner with the pediatric surgery team, daily responsibilities may include:

  • Patient management and surgical first assist for pediatric general surgery patients.
  • Collaborate with supervising physician, pediatric surgery team and staff to provide consistent patient care in the inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
  • Perform and document patient histories and physical exams.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Physician Extender is a licensed clinical professional (LMHC, LMFT) wo is a key member of the healthcare team working with patients and families in the critical care setting to address any barriers to mental and emotional health to support the organization's brand promise to Feel Whole. The Mental Health Professional works closely with Critical Care Intensivists to provide support services, psychological first aid, stress related coping, bereavement and navigation resources both within AdventHealth and the community. The Mental Health Professional provides coaching and intervention and is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides support for patients and family members facing critical illness diagnosis and care. AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency at East Orlando, Florida is hiring a PhD level behaviorist to join our faculty to educate and empower the next generation of family physicians. The behavioral medicine faculty is an essential member of our team and a faculty colleague. The position itself will be 60-70% clinical and 30-40% administrative. The clinical time will be a mix of precepting residents and individually rendered patient clinical care. The ideal candidate would have some level of both clinical experience as well as educational experience working with residents. We welcome interests in lifestyle medicine, addiction medicine and diversity training.  Opportunities for faculty development abound with the support of a seasoned Program Director.

Requirements:

This well-established ACGME Accredited Family Medicine Residency with Osteopathic Recognition is based at AdventHealth East Orlando, a 295 bed facility that is part of one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. The Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency at AdventHealth East Orlando, which has been training residents for over 30 years, is among the most progressive training programs in the osteopathic profession. The foundation for our family medicine residency is derived from the dedication of our faculty, continuity family medicine and pediatric clinics, didactic programs and innovative technology. We teach twenty four residents each academic year, ONMM3 residents, and osteopathic medical students. We are a core site for third year students from the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University.
