Ideal candidate should have:

  • 2+ years’ experience as midwife in hospital setting

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates pregnant and postpartum women in triage, walk-in labor & delivery patients
  • Evaluates pregnant and postpartum women including managing all aspects of pre-natal visits
  • Performs the nursing duties related to midwifery including labor and delivery care, care after birth, and newborn care.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

AdventHealth Orlando is looking for a dynamic and energetic physician with leadership experience to join and lead our Cardiovascular ICU Team at AdventHealth Orlando. Our new state of the art, 32 bed CVICU is also known as our Advanced Cardiac Surgical Unit (ACSU).

This position is a result of programmatic and companywide growth as we continue to support and establish high quality Quaternary Critical Care services to our Central Florida Region. The physician would join AHMG Critical Care Specialists of Central Florida, a 100 plus employed provider intensive care team, which reaches over 15 other AdventHealth campuses throughout Central, North and West Florida, in addition to providing tele-medicine services across multiple states. We take care and encounter over 20,000 critically patients a year as a practice.

Position & Program Highlights: 

  • Dedicated administrative time and clinical involvement managing ECMO, VAD, cardiothoracic, heart and lung transplant patients.
  • Collaborate with experienced and established intensivists, cardiology and pulmonology transplant medical/care team to help continue to grow and establish a high quality and highly sustainable Cardiovascular, Heart & Lung Transplant Critical Care program.
  • Leading the clinical quality for CVICU care, including quality metrics and quality assurance teams
  • Active participation in regional, national, and international meetings and conferences
  • Education of APP’S, medical critical care fellows and new staff along with community outreach; and program development. 
  • The medical director would also be involved with building a core team of physicians working to improve the breadth and intensity of the Advanced Cardiac Surgical Unit. 
  • This leadership position would report directly to the Executive Medical Director of AHMG Critical Care and have responsibilities to the campus Chief Medical Officer at AdventHealth Orlando along with service line leaders within the Heart, Lung & Vascular and Transplant Institutes

Medical Director Requirements: 

  • Board Certification in Critical Care (ABIM) or Surgical Critical Care (ABS) required 
  • 3-5 years of experience as a CVICU physician leader that includes transplant, ECMO and VAD 
  • Comprehensive clinical experience in large volume program with advanced cardiac surgery, heart and lung procurement, acute shock, heart failure and mechanical circulatory support 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The APP would be expected to complete the following under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital: 

  • Assess and manage ICU patients with complex medical problems.
  • Required Procedural skills: arterial catheters, central venous catheters, temporary hemodialysis catheter. All other procedures are optional and not required.
  • Required experience in management of complex medical, surgical, neurosurgical and cardiovascular ICU patients.
  • Required basic understanding of mechanical ventilation including non-invasive ventilation.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary round with the ICU team.

Schedule Details:

  • Ability to provide in-hospital coverage on a rotating shift basis.
