AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a team-oriented fellowship trained hematologist oncologist to lead out as the Medical Director of Melanoma, Sarcoma with AdventHealth Medical Group in the beautiful Orlando, Florida.

  • Experience in programmatic building within Melanoma Sarcoma would be required.
  • Development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda.
  • Dedicated administrative time.
  • Access to world renown research team, clinical trials, tumor boards.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience and interest with an inpatient/outpatient setting.
  • Rotation of call would be shared with the other oncology physicians in the practice, including weekends.
  • Orlando is the referral center and quaternary hub for our system across the state of Florida and the US.
  • In the Orlando practice it is a team of 6 experienced medical oncologists, 8 APPs, nurse navigators, social workers, chaplain support, pharmacy, nutrition etc..
  • Extended network of 6 other medical oncology sites surrounding Orlando.

AdventHealth is looking for physicians interested in heme malignancies (acute leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma), stem cell transplant and cellular therapies to join our growing program based in Orlando, Florida! Key features of our program include:

AdventHealth Transplant Institute in Orlando, Formerly Florida Hospital Transplant Institute, is seeking a Transplant Hepatologist to join its Liver Transplant program. Established in 2007, the Liver Transplant program has transplanted more than 600 patients and continues to grow every year. AdventHealth owns and operates the OurLegacy Organ Procurement Organization which recovers an average of 100 deceased donor livers annually. Practice Overview

The practice is a part of AdventHealth Medical Group.  Our hospitalist team is a substantial percentage of our Medical Group currently with over 80 providers. AHMG is a sister organization of AdventHealth which employs 350+ physicians in 27 individual service lines. AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a dynamic and quality focused physician leader to join our growing team of hospitalists at our highly rated, 164 bed Hospital in DeLand, FL. 

We are seeking a physician leader with a collaborative  leadership style who will model and lead excellence in clinical practice, doctor-patient relationships, and professionalism while maintaining AdventHealth’ s Mission, Vision, Values. 

AdventHealth DeLand’s team consists of (8) day physicians, (2) nocturnists, and (2) APP’s. The APP support is in a swing shift role to assist with ED through put. Our hospitalists work in teams rotating a 7 on /7   off schedule. Our shifts run from (7a-7p) and (7p-7a).

Schedule for the assistant director is 7 on / 7 off Day (182 shifts per year) with both clinical and administrative duties and protected time to accomplish administrative responsibilities.

  Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the medical director with the oversight of quality improvement projects, to ensure compliance with hospital quality of care and safety programs
  • Developing program goals
  • Conducting ongoing individual assessments of providers
  • Orient and coach hospitalists who are new to the Program
  • Working with medical group and hospital leadership to assist with operational efficiencies and budget cost management
  • Assist with, promote, and attend meeting   
  • Assist in development of educational programs related to the hospitalist providers. 
  • Coordination of hospitalist schedule (via AMION) to ensure program efficiency and productivity while ensuring safe and quality patient care.
  • Assist in receiving, investigating, and resolving patient or physician grievances, care opportunities, complaints, and/or questions related to the AHMG Hospitalist program.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Clinical management and comprehensive evaluation of inpatient neurological patients
  • Clinical management and knowledge of the AHA Stroke Management Patient Care Guidelines.   
  • Formulate and initiate individualized treatment plans based on therapeutic principles
  • Interprets common laboratory, electrographic and radiologic findings and intervene appropriately
  • Evaluate / provide /facilitate appropriate education for patients and families
  • Evaluates and provide for patient discharge needs with specific recommendations for follow up in the outpatient setting
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, management, staff, patients and families to ensure coordinated and cohesive execution of quality patient care in a timely manner
  • Effectively/consistently collaborate with members of the health care team to coordinate treatment plans, specific patient concerns and discharge planning,
