Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Rheumatology

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a BC/BE fellowship trained Rheumatologist to anchor a growing Rheumatology Practice in the Central Florida Area.

Active Cardiac, Lung, Liver Transplant and Advanced Lung Disease programs guarantee that you will serve a challenging and medically diverse patient population, and the quaternary care setting of this 1861 bed medical center ensures that high quality, specialty care partners are available to support your practice.

As the Advanced Lung Disease (ALD) program sees a large number of patients with Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension associated with Connective Tissue Diseases, the opportunity for embedded clinics within the ALD clinic and a shared EMR (EPIC) will allow for highly collaborative care with these specialists. The supportive infrastructure already in place for these highly specialized clinics can easily be expanded to support the unique needs of an active Rheumatology clinic.

This position initially involves primarily outpatient Rheumatologic care at the Orlando Campus with the expectation that as the program grows and additional faculty are added, inpatient consultations at the Orlando campus will be added in support of the specialty and teaching services at that campus.

The selected candidates will:

  • Be Fellowship trained and BC/BE in Rheumatology.
  • BC in Internal Medicine
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education.
  • Work collaboratively in a team focused approach to patient care
  • Leadership experience is desired but not required

Opportunity includes:

  • 100% Rheumatology
  • Opportunity to participate in the education and clinical training of internal medicine residents, medical students, and potentially in the future, rheumatology fellows
  • Epic EMR, online diagnostics including PACS imaging and laboratory results
  • New flagship state-of-the-art building (planned)
  • Close proximity to laboratory, imaging (X-Ray, MRI, Bone Density, Ultrasound), and physical therapy
  • Close proximity to a large, major inpatient medical facility
  • Access to a multi-site network of infusion centers
  • Established internal and external referral base
  • Numerous, excellent ancillary services
  • Excellent specialty care partners
  • Opportunity for embedded clinics within the Advanced Lung Disease Clinic, allowing close collaboration with specialists in Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Disease
  • Excellent radiology division offering high quality services including plain film, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine
  • Easily accessible network of Infusion Centers throughout the area
  • Excellent staff support including Prior Authorization and Patient Access Specialists
  • Strong and extensive referral network of employed and affiliated PCP’s
  • Large employed orthopedic group
  • Incredible weather year-round and an abundance of outdoor recreation
  • Growing, culturally diverse population
  • No state income tax and a low cost of living
  • Excellent public and private schools
