AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic Neonatologist to join our team at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel to manage the newborn nursery with plans to expand our services to a Level 2 NICU in the near future.  A few of the recognitions and accomplishments that AdventHealth Wesley Chapel has been recognized for are the Women’s Choice Award for Obstetrics for 2021, IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals for the 4th consecutive year, Baby Friendly Designation in 2021, 95th percentile for Patient Satisfaction, The hospital has been awarded its 12th consecutive “A” grade from the prestigious Leapfrog group along with a CMS 5-Star Rating

Responsibilities of the new physician will include:  Daily rounding on babies in the newborn nursery and will be on call from home for emergencies after daily rounds.  Higher acuity infants are stabilized and transferred to AdventHealth for Tampa Level 3 NICU or AdventHealth Orlando Level 3 NICU.   AdventHealth Wesley Chapel averages approximately 600-700 births per year with an average daily census of 6-7 patients.  Physicians will also have privileges at AdventHealth Zephyrhills although primary coverage in house will be at Wesley Chapel with remote supervision of NNPs at AdventHealth Zephyrhills which averages approximately 500 deliveries a year.

We are looking for a Medical Director with a collaborative and enthusiastic personality who is interested in seeing patients in the hospital and in the outpatient clinic setting. Our unparalleled network of 30 hospitals in the state with one children's hospital at the center provides an excellent opportunity for practice growth and professional development.

Responsibilities of the new physician will include: program building, growing into high volume outpatient clinics with a wide variety of patients from age 0-18 and inpatient coverage in equal rotation with other physician group members including APP support.  The medical director would also work collaboratively with multi-specialty teams in pediatric surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, pediatric head and neck oncology surgery, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric pulmonary and our hospitalist and PICU teams.  It is also possible to develop a subspecialty niche depending on the physician's interests.  Airway reconstruction surgery, a hearing loss program, and/or a cochlear implant program are all strong potential areas of development here given a physician’s defined interest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The LMHC or LCSW, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as labs and imaging.

• Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to other specialists, as needed.

• Collaborating with physician supervisor to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.

• Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all times.

• Documenting in a timely and thorough manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

• Strong communication skills.

AdventHealth Apopka and AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) are looking for a dynamic and innovative Pulmonologist to join an established practice in the beautiful Apopka, Florida. This position would have dedicated inpatient and outpatient time focused on General Pulmonology.

The physician will work with the experienced and established pulmonologists at AdventHealth Apopka. The physician will also have the ability to collaborate and refer patients to the advanced lung disease specialists, thoracic surgeons, pulmonology transplant medical/care team based out of AdventHealth Orlando. The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located at AdventHealth Orlando, Florida just outside downtown Orlando close to the charming Winter Park community.  AdventHealth Orlando just opened (in September 2020) a state of-the-art 32 bed advanced cardiac critical care unit dedicated to the cardio thoracic transplant service.  AdventHealth has a hospital-based organ procurement organization (our legacy is a top performing OPO in the United States).

Requirements of the position include: 

  • Fellowship training in Pulmonary Transplantation with at least five years’ experience post fellowship. 
  • Board Certification is required in Pulmonology and Critical Care.
  • UNOS eligibility
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models
