AdventHealth Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital, in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic and experienced, board-certified Gastroenterologist to serve as Program Director and launch the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. This employment opportunity is for a gastroenterologist who has a passion for teaching. This position would lead a state-of-the-art program based at a tertiary facility of 1289 beds. Ranked by US News and World Report, Florida Hospital has consistently been awarded “Best Hospital” in the state of Florida.

AdventHealth would like to continue developing its emerging institute for Digestive Health under the direction of the new program director.  Using the institute framework to connect the digestive health services and drive a coordinated approach will be crucial in developing these service lines.  As part of this gastroenterology development, the fellowship program is an integral part of this growth.  The new program director will not only lead the fellowship from infancy but will outline a vision related to our gastroenterology department.  The ideal candidate should have several years of academic experience, leadership over a GI section, and program development experience.

Anticipated to launch in 2020, this approved program will accept two fellows per year, working with faculty from across our digestive health institute. 

Ideal candidate should bring a vision to increase academic activity including research, posters, and presentations. Dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of Florida Hospital are required.

Requirements: Minimum of five years’ faculty experience as a Program Director or an Associate Program Director. Physician must be board certified in Gastroenterology through the ABMS.

Daily work schedule will include inpatient rounding/procedures with support from the medical team. AdventHealth Cancer Institute, formerly Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, is looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and experienced oncologist to lead our Breast Medical Oncology Program.  The Breast Oncology Medical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda.  This position will also provide leadership to achieve clinical quality improvement outcomes, as well as to achieve efficiency of care improvement outcomes.  AdventHealth Cancer Institute in the Central Florida area sees over 1000 newly diagnosed breast cancer cases each year. 

The Medical Director will collaborate with academia, industry and physicians to advance innovation through clinical trials and will provide leadership to advance patient experience outcomes. The position is based in Orlando, Florida and is part of our Cancer Institute, with locations across a regional network of 8 hospitals. 

A majority of this position is administrative time, with a portion of clinical work as well.  This practice is a part of AdventHealth Medical Group, formerly Florida Hospital Medical Group. AdventHealth Medical Group is looking for a fellowship trained hematology oncology specialist to join AdventHealth Medical Group Oncology and Hematology at Orlando and provide a daily consultative inpatient service for our main campus in downtown Orlando.  The ideal candidate will have experience with the inpatient setting seeing a variety of hem malignancies and solid tumor patients.  Rotation of call would be in share with the other physicians in the CIF team including weekends of 1:5 or 1:6. The hospitalist would also have APP support.

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking an Inpatient Hospice Physician to oversee the medical components of the Hospice plan of care for each patient within a new, 14 bed inpatient unit at AdventHealth Orlando. This physician and the other members of the interdisciplinary team will collaborate with the patient’s attending physician communicating the patient’s wishes and status. 

AdventHealth Hospice Care Central Florida, formerly Hospice of the Comforter, is the only non-profit, local experts in compassionate, end-of-life care, serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties since 1990.  Our team provides individualized care and support to patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dynamic and hardworking physician to serve as a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Based at the tertiary hospital just north of downtown Orlando, this Internal Medicine Residency Program accepts 12 new residents each academic year. Internal medicine subspecialties (Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology) are needed in our system and would be considered along with general internists/hospitalists for the core faculty position. The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient and inpatient setting as well as seeing private patients and developing research projects in conjunction with residents and other faculty. Physician candidate would be considered core faculty and would need to be broadly skilled in Internal Medicine. Mix of general medicine and subspecialty practice will be individualized based on candidate’s experience. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills. The residency program has medical school associations with University of Central Florida (first class started in 2009), Loma Linda, and Florida State University. We would invite those sub specialists who might have an interest in medicine teaching to submit their application.

AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education Department is seeking a dynamic program director to lead our Internal Medicine Residency Program established in 2009.  The current, founding program director will be transitioning to senior program faculty member in 2019.

The Internal Medicine Residency contains 14 positions per year with 2 designated positions concentrated towards a primary care track.  The Internal Medicine Residency is fully ACGME accredited.  The program is free-standing, but is affiliated with Florida State University College of Medicine and Loma Linda University College of Medicine.  The current core program faculty consists of 9 fulltime FTEs, which includes 2 subspecialists. 

Qualified candidates will possess a significant background in clinical care, clinical teaching and program administration.  Research experience with a published record is mandatory.  Candidates must possess a very strong commitment to graduate medical education.  Candidates may be generalists or subspecialists but must be able to provide skillful teaching and clinical care in general internal medicine wards and clinics. 

The position will be available in 2019 with responsibilities for Program Directorship to begin in July, 2019 or within 6 months thereafter.

Salary is competitive for the Southeast region.
