This employment opportunity is a 7 on 7 off position responsible for roughly 182 shifts per year. We have (2) teams of (9) physicians with the support of APPs during the day for ED through put and dedicated nocturnist coverage at night also supervising an APP. Our hospitalists work in teams rotating a 7 day on 7 day off schedule. Our shifts run from (7a-7p) and (7p-7a). Physician would have responsibility at either AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach OR AdventHealth Palm Coast to cover inpatient GI consults from the floor and emergency department. Candidate would also perform procedures in the hospital setting and should practice all aspects of Gastroenterology. The physician's duties will include his or her own personal clinic, leading comprehensive geriatric assessment clinic and nursing home rounds with fellows, residents and medical students, giving didactic lectures, and evaluating learners.
The ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, demonstrate leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital.
The AdventHealth Geriatric Medicine fellowship began in 1998 and currently enjoys full ACGME accreditation. The geriatric fellowship program seeks to train Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine Physicians in all facets of clinical geriatrics over a period of twelve months.
