We are seeking an experienced Certified Physician Assistant, PA-C to join a growing Neuroscience program at an established Neurosurgery practice comprised of six surgeons and two PA-C providers. The role involves Neurological management of surgical patients based at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. This individual would work in outpatient and inpatient settings as well as assist in surgery. Candidate will only work in one designated office location at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. 

General Summary:

The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

•    Performing histories and physical exams on Neurology patients in both the office and hospital
•    Handling patients in clinic, surgery, and inpatient 
•    Ramp up independent patient management and post op care with follow up visits
•    First assisting in the Operating Room
•    No practice call 
•    Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory, X-ray, MRI, etc.
•    Assisting patient and family with pre- and post-procedural education
•    Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and places orders for referral to the appropriate specialist
•    Collaborating with physician and staff to provide consistent care to the patients
•    Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth

Schedule Details:

•    Hospital coverage at only one location 
•    Schedule is Monday – Friday and some weekends
•    3 days of clinic, 1.5 days OR, .5 day admin time  
•    Days will be split between hospital, outpatient clinic and admin time
•    Up to two weekends of call every four weeks in tandem with supervising physician  
•    No practice call

Knowledge and Skills Required:

•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public; Strong communication skills
•    Ability to work flexible schedule M-F including weekends
•    Ability to excel in a fast-paced clinic with highly acute patients
•    Experience in the OR and preferably in Neurosurgery  

Required Education/Experience:

•    Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies 
•    Experience as a PA-C in Neurosurgery (highly preferred)

AdventHealth for Children is seeking a dynamic, energetic and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to lead our team based at the Walt Disney Pavilion (website) in Orlando, Florida.  The new Medical Director would help establish our program in our Central Florida area and develop our team including a nurse practitioner, clinical psychologist, LMHC, RN and a care navigator.   Majority of time will be in a clinical capacity, but physician will have some dedicated time for administrative responsibilities including working with community partners.  New physician will work to develop pathways for our patients to be seen quickly from our inpatient floors and/or the emergency department.  This is an outpatient opportunity with a dedicated space just north of our Children’s Hospital campus near downtown Orlando.  

We have a robust Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics program, neuropsychology, a pediatric residency program, and a full team of over 200 subspecialists at AdventHealth for Children.  We were also just awarded a $6 million grant to help support this new Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program!  We have a network of 30 hospitals in the state with an extensive outreach system as well.  This includes multiple outpatient locations with a multidisciplinary presence.   We deliver approximately 23,000 babies per year throughout our system. 

Requirements of the position

  • Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • At least 5 years’ experience post fellowship
  • Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Demonstrable skills in judgment, management and decision-making.

Location: Winter Park, FL - Specialty: Psychiatry, Geriatric

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic and hardworking Psychiatrist to join our team of multidisciplinary behavioral health specialists located in the Winter Park area. Candidate must have a passion to work with the geriatric population as part of a psychiatric integrated team model.  The practice currently consists of three full time Psychiatrists, two Licensed Mental Health Counselors and one dedicated social worker.  We are also actively searching for an additional LMHC team member to work alongside the new Psychiatrist. Responsibilities would include, but not limited to: patient contact hours of Monday through Friday which would be three days of virtual visits and two days in the outpatient setting, one weekend/month of practice call coverage, and cross coverage of team members as needed. Additionally, potential opportunities can include ECT treatments, TMS evaluations, mapping and supervision of treatment.

Additionally, AdventHealth is on the verge of completing construction of the brand new “Innovation Tower” in Orlando, Florida across from the main campus, AdventHealth Orlando – expected opening in late 2022.   This state of the art location will have two floors dedicated to comprehensive and inter-disciplinary brain health support for both the practice and the community.

Physician would have support of the AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute Center of Excellence. The Neuroscience Institute strives to be at the forefront of neurological medicine and is committed to excellence in treatment, education, research and care of patients with neurological and spinal illness and injury.

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Pulmonology

AdventHealth Orlando’s Advanced Lung Disease Institute is looking for an experienced leader to develop our subspecialty program in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). This would be an opportunity to build a program from the ground up.

Clinical responsibilities will include provision of care (inpatient and outpatient) for patients with Advanced Pulmonary Disease, and with specific focus on Interstitial Lung disease. The opportunity for close collaboration with the Lung Transplant, Pulmonary Hypertension and Rheumatology teams is anticipated as is the ability to train students, residents and fellows.

Leadership responsibilities would include building a multidisciplinary team for the inpatient and outpatient care of ILD patients, leading and developing the clinical quality program for ILD care; active participation in regional, national, and international ILD meetings and conferences; education of residents and staff; community outreach; and program development. The physician leader would also be involved with building a core team of employed and independent physicians working to improve the ILD services within our system of fifteen (15) Central Florida hospital locations and eventually within our statewide hospitals. Overall dedicated time to the administrative portion of this role will fall between 20-40%.

Requirements for ILD Medical Director:

  • Fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine
  • Board certification through ABMS or AOA in Pulmonology
  • Ideal candidate would have at least five years of experience post fellowship and demonstrated experience in a leadership role in an ILD program
  • Experience in Lung Transplant, Pulmonary Hypertension or Critical Care Medicine is welcomed but not required
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical research

AdventHealth Medical Group Radiology - Central Florida, formerly Radiology Specialists of Florida, is seeking a full-time, ABR fellowship trained Body Radiologist to join its expanding practice of 140 radiologists. We are currently the largest radiology practice in Central Florida which includes 34 collegial, dedicated body imagers. Our facilities provide approximately 2 million exams via a large referral base of more than 3000 medical staff.

Candidates can expect sub-specialization in body imaging only. No mammo required.

Our main campus is a tertiary referral center for Central Florida with a large cancer and transplant population. This provides a large volume of advanced body MRI. Our hospital system has multiple residency programs including our own residency with 4 residents per year.

The ideal candidate would also have procedural skills to rotate with other body radiologists on dedicated procedural rotations covering CT and US procedures. 

Candidate should expect:

  • Days schedule with occasional evening coverage equal to other day radiologists. Most evenings are covered by dedicated, evenings only radiologists.
  • NO overnight responsibility with subspecialized internal overnight coverage.
  • 1 PACS system (AGFA PACS and PowerScribe systems)

AdventHealth Medical Group Radiology - Central Florida, formerly Radiology Specialists of Florida, is seeking an overnight Body/ER Radiologist to join its expanding practice of 142 radiologists. Our facilities provide approximately 2 million exams via a large referral base of more than 3000 medical staff covering 16 hospitals.

Candidates can live anywhere is the US (except California) and work remotely if needed. The ability to work on site in Central Florida is also available. Candidates with an active Florida license are preferred.

Most of the work focuses on body ER and inpatient cases. No level one trauma. Cardiac CT experience would be a plus. There is additional separate neuroradiology and MSK coverage during the overnight shift.

The schedule is currently 14 days on/ 14 days. Every overnight radiologist is teamed up with another radiologist to cover the entire year. Additional internal moonlighting opportunities also are available for additional compensation.

Candidate should expect:

  • Overnight Only Schedule covering shifts either from 10 pm – 6 am, or 11 pm – 7am, Eastern time
  • 24 hr. 3D postprocessing lab
