Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunities available in the Ocala, Florida area. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 12 bed level 2 NICU at Ocala along with the newborn service.

General Summary:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice.
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist.
  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team.
  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators.
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care.
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws.
  • Ensuring proper feeding and basic care.

Schedule Details:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal Certification (required)

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic, innovative and energetic neonatal nurse practitioners at the Level 2 NICU at Holmes Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Melbourne, Florida. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatologist will cover the 10 bed Level 2 NICU at HRMC along with the newborn service.

General Summary:

The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice.

Nurse Practitioner, Non-Surgical: Critical Care
Orlando, FL

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner, Non-Surgical: Critical Care

Neuro Critical Care – PA or ACNP

Days and Nights: 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM

 AdventHealth Orlando is seeking an experienced NeuroICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding critical care team. The APP would be based out of AdventHealth Orlando, which has approximately 165 critical care beds. Our Neuro Critical Care unit is currently 28 beds, with the capacity to increase to 40 beds. Our group is currently looking to continue to grow its comprehensive and successful 24/7 closed ICU model.

 The APP would serve as a member of the Neurocritical Care team by assisting in management of critically ill patients at AdventHealth. The PA/APRN applies specialized skills and knowledge related to Neuro ICU settings in which they practice, contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and consulting at AdventHealth. 

General Summary: Under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital, the APP will assist with:

  • Providing direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with multi-system failure, utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient’s physician
  • Obtains patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings in accordance with hospital requirements
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners
  • Performs CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation; directing administration of life supporting drugs, and defibrillation
  • Inserts and manages arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment
  • Interfaces patients with monitoring and instrumentation equipment and directs and educates others in performing the same functions
  • Perform admissions and consultations to the NeuroICU and Neuro-intermediate unit Rounds with Neuro- Intensivist, provides cross coverage on the patients rounded on earlier
  • Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries
  • Assesses patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient
  • Participates and assists with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of the patients admitted to the ICU

Schedule Details

  • All Inpatient - 14 (12-hour) shifts per month
  • No call
  • Provide cross coverage on the 40 beds combined unit
  • Perform admissions to Neuro ICU and Nero-Intermediate Unit
  • Day and Night Coverage

Required Education & Experience:

PRN (per diem) Position

 General Summary:

The Pediatric APRN or Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric ICU setting, including intubation, ventilator management and other procedures as may be required ie. central lines, arterial lines
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Required Education/Experience:

Full time Opportunity for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant

General Summary:

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic, hard-working, board certified Advanced Practice Provider with experience in the rehab setting, managing Cardiac, Stroke, Brain Injuries, Neurology and Orthopedic patients. The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of rehab patients, including all aspects of care from performing patient histories, daily rounding, family visits, and new consults.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physician(s) is responsible for:

  • Performing patient histories and physical exams.
  • Managing the Inpatient rehab unit. Handling patient rounding, patient/family education, admissions, and discharges.
  • Providing acute care consults at Waterman, Altamonte and Apopka (Orlando/Winter Park campuses as needed).
  • Building relationships with referring physicians.
  • Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist.
  • Collaborating with physician supervisor, OT, PT, therapists, skilled nurses, dietitians and other staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients.
  • Working with insurance companies as needed for Peer to Peer prior authorizations
  • Displaying a caring and always having a professional attitude, as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.
  • Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explains discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more.
  • Additional coverage as needed at AdventHealth Orlando and Winter Park campuses

Schedule Details:

  • Required to cover multiple campuses: Waterman, Apopka and Altamonte
  • Schedule: Required to work 20-23 days a Month: Monday – Friday 8.5 hours shift from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with some flexibility for patient care
  • Call responsibility: every other weekend, including on-site hospital rounding.
  • 100% traveling.

General Summary:

Utilizes expertise in patient/family assessment incorporating physical, psycho-social, environmental, spiritual, and financial factors to assess patients for barriers that interfere with the attainment of healthcare goals.

  • Responsible for assessment and treatment of individuals with developmental disorders, mental, emotional, social or substance abuse problems, including abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and/or other related drugs.

St. Augustine Visitors Guide

AdventHealth for Women in Orlando, Florida and Loch Haven OB/GYN are looking for a dynamic and experienced, board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN physician to immediately join a team in launching the expansion of this nationally-recognized practice which operates on a high acuity case mix with a focus on high risk pregnancies and minimally invasive surgery. Loch Haven OB/GYN is an extremely dynamic practice.  We care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies, patients requiring advanced minimally invasive surgery.  This employed group is looking for a dedicated physician with a strong work ethic to join the team.  Our team has a strong focus on providing safe, efficient, cost-effective care to patients in an environment of mutual respect and collaboration.  Loch Haven was the first Ob/Gyn practice in the United States to receive formal certification from the ACOG “SCOPE” office safety program!  Our physicians and midwives commonly receive extremely high patient satisfaction survey scores. 

The physician will take call with the other physicians and have the opportunity to provide personable, state-of-the-art obstetric care, including routine pregnancy, high risk conditions, cesarean delivery, and cesarean hysterectomy.  Our team also sees many interesting gynecologic patients and has a busy surgical practice.  In contrast to national statistics, approximately 90% of hysterectomies performed by our team are done vaginally or laparoscopically.  If desired, our physicians may serve as faculty for a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship.  Although not a requirement for employment, our team has access to the Da Vinci robot if desired.  We have published in prestigious journals and serve as journal reviewers.  There is the opportunity for research and research mentoring if desired.   We often have medical students rotating through our private practice and teach resident physicians in the hospital.  Applicants should be interested in being highly effective medical educators.

AdventHealth is seeking experienced part-time or per diem Obstetrician/Gynecologists to support our OBGYN Hospitalist programs in Orlando, Winter Park, Celebration, Altamonte Springs, Melbourne, Deltona, and Daytona.  Candidates will join our team of physicians and midwives supporting campuses in central Florida.  Responsibilities of the OBGYN Hospitalist include provision of in-house obstetric coverage for unassigned and emergent obstetric patients; act as surgical assist to staff Ob/Gyn physicians upon request; manage and cover the OB Triage unit; accept and manage maternal transfers; and provide appropriate oversight and clinical teaching of medical students, family medicine residents and other learners.  A motivation to increase patient safety and elevate patient satisfaction, along with dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth, are required.

We are seeking physicians with the following qualifications:
