AdventHealth for Children has an immediate opening for a Complex Care Pediatrician in our Adler Family Coordinated Care for Kids (CCK) program. The Complex Care Pediatrician will provide primary care for children with medical complexities (CMC) in our Complex Care Clinic, an outpatient, Patient Centered Medical Home.

The CCK Complex Care Clinic was established in 2013 and currently has over 450 active patients enrolled in the program. The Complex Care Pediatrician will also partner and co-manage patients enrolled in our Pediatric Palliative Care program for children with potentially life-limiting illnesses.

The Complex Care Pediatrician also cares for patients in a consultative model of co-management with inpatient physicians while patients are admitted at AdventHealth for Children and works closely with pediatric specialists and community-based primary care providers to treat patients enrolled in our many diagnosis-specific multi-disciplinary clinics. This comprehensive model of care is designed to provide interdisciplinary, team-based care for children with medical complexities (CMC), technology-dependencies, and chronic and complex conditions.

Our Patient Centered Medical Home model emphasizes patient/parent-provider partnerships, shared-decision making, and goal-directed care to ensure children with special health care needs receive the best possible care, tailored to their unique needs.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Board eligible/board certified in General Pediatrics is required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or training in the care of CMC or experience in intensive care and/or pulmonology.
  • Active FL medical license (or ability to secure active, unrestricted licensure)

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking experienced, board certified Pediatricians (2) to anchor a new practice in the Orange City area - one of Central Florida’s fastest growing family friendly communities. AdventHealth Medical Group will be expanding its network of Pediatric Primary Care to the Volusia and Flagler communities. Enjoy a traditional outpatient setting in addition to newborn coverage at AdventHealth Fish Memorial.  This practice also includes after hours call triaged by an answering service staffed with licensed nursing professionals.  When fully staffed this practice will have two full time pediatricians within this location.  The practice will also have affiliation and partnership with AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, a 200 bed tertiary Children’s Hospital.  AHFC is recognized by US News and World Report as one of the nation’s top Children’s Hospitals.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Active FL medical license (or ability to secure active, unrestricted licensure)
  • Prefer at least 3-5 years’ experience in all aspects of Pediatric care (newborn through age 18)
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Pediatrics
  • Experience with supervising Advanced Practice Providers (APRN and/or PA-C)

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic, innovative and energetic neonatologists as we expand our group at the Level 2 NICU at Holmes Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Melbourne, Florida.  The flexible schedule includes both restricted (in house) and unrestricted call (at home) consisting of approximately 14 shifts a month.  The Neonatologist in collaboration with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, will cover the 10 bed Level 2 NICU at HRMC along with the newborn service.  The Neonatologist will also be available, on call, for high risk deliveries.  This program is built for two neonatologists and two NNP’s.  In addition to the NICU and newborn service there is also an inpatient pediatric floor that is managed by the Pediatric Hospitalist team.

The physicians will be part of a larger group of neonatologists that are part of AdventHealth for Children Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital for Children. Our regional network includes a delivery volume of approximately 23,000 births per year. We have a dedicated Neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced Pediatric Subspecialists.

This position would also have the support of our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22 bed PICU, 10 bed Cardiac ICU, a 102 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system.  We started our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes.  We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017.  Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.  Our newest program has brought pediatirc liver transplant services to Central Florida. Overview

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic Neonatologist to join our team at AdventHealth Daytona Beach in association with AdventHealth for Children/Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando.  

The Neonatologist would be responsible for but not limited to covering the 16 bed NICU at AH Daytona along with participating in daily family centered rounding and attending high risk deliveries.  The schedule would consist of both restricted (8hrs of in-house coverage) and unrestricted call (call within a 20-30 min response time) resulting in approximately 15 shifts per month.

Responsibilities of the new physician will include:  Daily rounding on babies in the newborn nursery and will be on call from home for emergencies after daily rounds.  Higher acuity infants are stabilized and transferred to AdventHealth for Tampa Level 3 NICU or AdventHealth Orlando Level 3 NICU.   AdventHealth Wesley Chapel averages approximately 600-700 births per year with an average daily census of 6-7 patients.  Physicians will also have privileges at AdventHealth Zephyrhills although primary coverage in house will be at Wesley Chapel with remote supervision of NNPs at AdventHealth Zephyrhills which averages approximately 500 deliveries a year.

AdventHealth for Children is seeking a dynamic and hardworking Pediatric Palliative Medicine physician to join our team managing the complex care pediatric population. AdventHealth has a growing physician-led program that will give you the opportunity to work with an incredible, collegial multi-disciplinary team.  We direct inpatient consultation services at a tertiary hospital with plans to roll-out outpatient clinics and our “Coordinate Care for Kids” clinic. This position comes with opportunities for mentorship, teaching, working with team-based faculty, and development of a palliative fellowship. This program emphasizes patient and family-centered care and collaboration with a team of physicians from every specialty. There is an opportunity to work with pediatric residents and palliative medicine fellows.

  • Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills necessary to join our growing program.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and active board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Location: Tavares, FL - Specialty: Physical Medicine and Rehab

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a board-certified (or board eligible) Physiatrist to lead our program in a brand new inpatient unit located at AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares, Florida – approximately 40 minutes from downtown Orlando.  This physician will be responsible for the multi-disciplinary care in our state-of-the-art facility along with APP support. Future growth will increase the total number of licensed inpatient rehab beds to 22.  Responsibilities will include inpatient clinical care, program development, quality metrics and improvement, and marketing, along with dedicated administrative time. Ideal candidate will also have comfort level with general internal medicine needs of patients.  This opportunity is open to new residents with the proper training and interest in an inpatient setting, and it will provide an opportunity for further professional development and growth through strong mentorship. 

The Medical Director will work with an experienced support team of therapists, skilled nurses and dietitians providing care to neurologic, cardiac, orthopedic and general rehab patients.  A full complement of medical and surgical specialists will also provide care for our patients on this unit. The new physician would also be responsible for acute care consults during the day in addition to working with care management, specialists, hospitalists and other acute care teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to achieve an active, unrestricted FL medical license
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Experience in a leadership role and in developing new, multi-disciplinary teams is preferred

AdventHealth Medical Group Spine Health at Altamonte Springs is looking for a dynamic and team-oriented Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our established destination program.  This position is for a PM&R trained physician to help build and grow the practice in new markets around the Orlando area.  This opportunity is focused on growing 2 satellite offices, one in Apopka and one in Oviedo, all within a 15-30 minute drive from our main office located in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The new physician will have the ability to shape his/her practice based on subspecialty interests. 

With the leadership of the medical director, Dr. Chetan Patel, this physician will have the opportunity to provide the best care and treatment options for patients with neck and back pain.  We have full multidisciplinary services at AHMG Spine Health that include rehab and sports medicine, wellness, psychology, pain medicine, procedures, and outcomes based research.  The position would be based in an outpatient setting for patient consultations and injections.  Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Physicians with an academic interest would find this position appealing as Dr. Patel is actively engaged in multiple FDA and European clinical trials and continues to serve as a faculty member for multiple spine societies.  He is the Robotics and Navigation Section chairman for the North American Society.  At AHMG Spine Health at Altamonte Springs, he has helped establish a comprehensive research database on operative and non-operative treatment of spine patients with the goal of reporting outcomes based on evidence based spinal treatment and refining clinical algorithms.   The new physician would have the opportunity to teach, participate in our research database and author multiple publications.

General Summary:

• Performs patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting

• Handles daily patient rounds (including the CVICU), patient education and discharge summaries

• Performs invasive procedures, such as thoracenteses, chest tube insertions, placement of central venous, dialysis and Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines and intra-aortic balloon pumps

• Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required

• Retrieves vascular tissue, including greater and lesser saphenous veins and/or radial arteries, for use as a bypass conduit

• Performs first assistant duties on all adult cardiac cases; thoracic and major/minor vascular cases

• Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon, often assisting several surgeons in a single practice

• Has exacting knowledge of each surgeon's idiosyncrasies to expedite the procedure and limit patient morbidity and mortality

• Uses knowledge of medical model to promote synergistic relationship between physician and PA

AdventHealth Medical Group Colorectal Surgery offers comprehensive treatments and minimally invasive surgery for a multitude of colorectal disorders, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders, ostomy care, anal dysplasia and anorectal pathology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The APRN or PA, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Performing health assessments including patient history and physical examination in the hospital setting – Primarily in AdventHealth Orlando Campus.

• Performs diagnostic procedures according to privileges and maintains log.

• Conditions treated include but are not limited to: Anal Abscess/Fistula, Anal Cancer, Colon and Rectal Cancer, Lower GI bleeding, Fecal Incontinence, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticular Disease, Rectal Prolapse, Hemorrhoids, Ostomy Care and Intestinal Fistulas.

• Orders, interprets and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies and lab values into the plan of care; evaluates effectiveness.

• Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, physical examination and clinical findings.

• Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges.

• Orders pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges.

• Provides ongoing patient/family and staff education.

• Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team including family.

• Documents in a timely and thorough manner.

• Communicates report in an efficient and complete manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
