Full Time Surgical Physician Assistant; PA-C – Head & Neck Surgery

Our ENT/Head & Neck surgery practice is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and flexible Physician Assistant for a full time position working predominantly with the head and neck surgical team. This practitioner will work with board-certified head and neck surgeons and surgical neurotologist, and participate in patient care in the clinic, hospital, and perioperative settings, including first assist in surgery as well as on-call for general ENT consultations. Our renowned otolaryngologists have extensive experience in robotic, reconstructive and endocrine surgery. The new practitioner would work closely with the head and neck surgery doctors and physician assistants in a collaborative effort. Our nationally recognized physician team works closely with general surgery residents, and additionally trains both head & neck fellows as well as neurotology fellows.

A physician assistant interested in this position must be an excellent communicator and empathetic towards our specialty patient population, and is utilized as a patient resource for education and care guidance. They can expect a good mix of clinic and OR in close collaboration with the surgeons and fellows, as well as independent practicing while seeing general ENT consults and established patient clinic hours. This provider should thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic practice environment while upholding exemplary patient care.

General Summary:

The PA, under the supervision of the Physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

• Performs physical examinations of patients, evaluation and treatment of injuries or illnesses related to Head and Neck Surgery and Neurotology in the clinic and hospital setting

• Surgical first assist in OR, Rounding in the hospital, medical management in the clinic

• Performing scope related procedures, incision and drainage, suturing

• Conditions managed and surgically treated include but are not limited to: Thyroid / parathyroid / parotid conditions requiring surgery, head and neck cancer, swallowing and vocal cord disorders, and general ENT hospital consultations excluding facial trauma.

• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

We are looking for PA’s and APRN’s to serve as members of our expanding critical care team. The APP assist in management of critically ill patients in our closed ICU.  The ideal candidate would apply specialized skills and knowledge related to ICU settings to contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization. 

General Summary: The APP under the supervision and direction of the Physician and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital: (other duties as assigned)

  • Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners.
  • Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents as necessary
  • Assesses patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient.
  • Procedures performed but not limited to: inserts and manages arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment, CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation, repositioning endotracheal tubes; and defibrillation
  • directing administration of life supporting drugs according to established protocols

Schedule Information:

  • Shifts are 12-hour shifts on an as needed basis
  • Hours are either 7 AM – 7 PM (Day), or 7 PM to 7 AM (night)

Requirements:

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic and hardworking Psychiatrist to join our team of multidisciplinary behavioral health specialists located at AdventHealth Lake Wales. Candidate must have a passion to work in the inpatient setting with the geriatric population.  The Psychiatrist will have the support of an Advanced Practice Provider.  Responsibilities would include, but not limited to: consults Monday through Friday, including initial and follow up assessment, ED support, one weekend/month of call coverage, and cross coverage of team members as needed.  Additionally, potential opportunities can include ECT treatments, TMS evaluations, mapping and supervision of treatment.

Physician would have support of the AdventHealth Neuroscience Institute Center of Excellence. Location: Winter Park, FL - Specialty: Psychiatry, Geriatric

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic and hardworking Psychiatrist to join our team of multidisciplinary behavioral health specialists located in the Winter Park area. Candidate must have a passion to work with the geriatric population as part of a psychiatric integrated team model.  The practice currently consists of three full time Psychiatrists, two Licensed Mental Health Counselors and one dedicated social worker.  We are also actively searching for an additional LMHC team member to work alongside the new Psychiatrist. Responsibilities would include, but not limited to: patient contact hours of Monday through Friday which would be three days of virtual visits and two days in the outpatient setting, one weekend/month of practice call coverage, and cross coverage of team members as needed. Additionally, potential opportunities can include ECT treatments, TMS evaluations, mapping and supervision of treatment.

AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency in Orlando, Florida is hiring a PhD level behaviorist to join our faculty to educate and empower the next generation of family physicians. The behavioral medicine faculty is an essential member of our team and a faculty colleague. The position itself will be 60-70% clinical and 30-40% administrative. The clinical time will be a mix of precepting residents and individually rendered patient clinical care. The ideal candidate would have some level of both clinical experience as well as educational experience working with residents. We welcome interests in lifestyle medicine, addiction medicine and diversity training. Opportunities for faculty development abound with the support of a seasoned Program Director.

Requirements:

PsyD in Clinical Psychology, APA Accredited

A strong emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient centered care. Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth.

AdventHealth Winter Park Family Medicine Residency Program is an established, premier training site for family medicine residents with almost five decades of experience. Our board certification rate for the past five years is 100%. Residents graduate and are hired both locally and regionally as outpatient physicians, hospitalists, and as fellows in multiple types of fellowships. Our faculty speak at regional, national, and international academic venues. Our Centre for Family Medicine is a delightful clinic/academic office space just across the street from the hospital.
