General Summary:

The Pediatric APRN or Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the hospital setting
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff

General Summary:

The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of breast surgery patients, including all aspects of Peri-operative care from performing patient histories and daily rounds to invasive surgical procedures.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physicians is responsible for:

  • Performs patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting
  • Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required
  • Performs first assistant duties.
  • Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon, often assisting several surgeons in a single practice
  • Has exacting knowledge of each surgeon's idiosyncrasies to expedite the procedure and limit patient morbidity and mortality
  • Uses knowledge of medical model to promote synergistic relationship between physician and PA
  • Post-op- Writes orders in the recovery room, talks with family, visits patients performs post op procedures and more
  • Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explain discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more

  • Performs physical examination of patient's with breast disease in the office setting to formulate a clinical plan of action.

  • Throughout the year multiple community outreach programs are performed in order to raise awareness of screening mammography, signs and symptoms of breast cancer and high risk breast disease as well as family history of breast cancer the physician assistant will assist with these outreach programs in any way necessary.

  • Schedule is Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM with some flexibility depending on surgery

Physician Assistant, Surgical: Cardiovascular
Orlando, FL

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Physician Assistant, Surgical: Cardiovascular

General Summary:

  • Under the direction and supervision of the surgeon, the Cardiovascular Surgery PA-C or APRN-RNFA will perform cardiovascular surgical preparation procedures, per-operative and post-operative procedures, and assists in performing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Provide patient and family with pre-operative education, answer questions regarding surgery, recovery and risk factor modification.
  • Obtain and perform history and physical examinations.
  • Record and interpret pertinent data (labs, diagnostic studies, discharge summaries, progress notes, etc.) including writing orders and discharges.
  • First assisting in cardiovascular surgery, vein and radial artery harvesting, first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic and thoracic surgery.
  • Ability to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic.
  • Admit patients, attend rounds, complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate follow-up.
  • Management of patients both pre- and post-implantation for Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

AdventHealth Medical Group Pediatric Head & Neck Surgery at Orlando is looking for a surgical physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing pediatric subspecialty surgery team in the greater Orlando area. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working with a supervising physician in an inpatient and outpatient setting. In addition, the ideal candidate should have a good surgical foundation as well as first assist and pediatric experience.

General Summary:

The PA-C/APRN works as a collaborative practitioner with the pediatric surgery team, daily responsibilities may include:

  • Patient management and surgical first assist for pediatric general surgery patients.
  • Collaborate with supervising physician, pediatric surgery team and staff to provide consistent patient care in the inpatient hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
  • Perform and document patient histories and physical exams.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, CT, MRI, Ultrasound etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and implement care plans.
  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds.

    • Airway-related procedures and care, including:
      • Tracheostomy assistance, postoperative management, and decannulation care

    • Tumor-related procedures and care:
      • Assistance with resection of benign and malignant pediatric head and neck tumors
      • Postoperative oncologic surveillance and wound management
    • In-office and bedside procedures such as:
      • Fine needle aspiration (FNA) of neck masses (as credentialed)
      • Incision and drainage of neck abscesses
      • Management of surgical drains, neck incisions, and complex wounds
      • Suture and staple removal
      • Botox and chemodenervation of salivary glands

    • Receive and triage children’s transfer center calls and consults.

AdventHealth Orlando is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute with a new Brain Health flagship building opened in 2022.  Our Neuroscience Institute at AdventHealth Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  AdventHealth Orlando has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC).

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist (MD or DO) for a full-time outpatient opportunity at our Innovation Tower location in downtown Orlando. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general psychiatry and a special interest or experience in neurologically complex patients, including those with multiple sclerosis (MS), dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and related neuropsychiatric conditions.



The psychiatrist, as an independent licensed physician, will:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for adult and/or geriatric patients in an outpatient setting
  • Manage medication and non-medication-based treatment plans, including coordination with other providers as needed
  • Utilize a biopsychosocial approach to treatment planning and care delivery
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including psychologists, lcsws, primary care, and neurology when appropriate
  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care, with an emphasis on continuity and patient-centered outcomes
  • Maintain timely and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team and maintain strong relationships with patients, staff, and physicians
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in psychiatric diagnostic frameworks (dsm-5), treatment planning, and medication management

AdventHealth Medical Group Neuropsychology at Orlando is seeking to hire a clinical neuropsychologist to provide comprehensive neuropsychological services to our diverse patient population of pediatrics and the life span.

General Summary:

  • Typical referrals include Medical and neurological conditions such as TBI, concussion, brain tumor, seizure disorder, autoimmune disorders, hematology/oncology, transplant, memory disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.
  • The provider will see: Pediatric patients with neurological and medical conditions that impact cognitive function.
  • This position is primarily clinical and heavily assessment focused; however, delivery of psychotherapy and treatment is also expected primarily in following patients initially seen for neuropsychological evaluation.
  • There are ample opportunities for supervision of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, and participation in didactic seminars as presenter and attendee (e.g., tumor boards, grand rounds).
  • The possibility of conducting research is also available.
  • Provide comprehensive services including assessment, parent and family consultation and education, and interventions for patients.
