Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunities available in Celebration, FL. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to work in our Level II NICU. The neonatal nurse practitioner in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 10 bed level 2 NICU at Celebration along with the newborn service.

General Summary:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team
  • Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician
  • Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws
  • Ensuring proper feeding and basic care

Schedule Details:

  • 24-hour shifts (8am-8am)

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal Certification (required)

Schedule Details:

  • 24 hour unrestricted shifts – 7 days on and 7 days off

AdventHealth for Children Pediatric ENT seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their new Pediatric ENT program.

General Summary:

The NP or PA assists the assigned staff attending in all aspects of patient care. This position involves practice in the clinical setting, including inpatient, ambulatory/outpatient, and pre-operative and post-operative care.

  • The practice will involve care and management of patients requiring or consultation for ENT-related diagnoses.
  • Care will include performing clinic assessments, admission, history and physicals, daily plan of care, and some minor procedures.
  • Practitioner will manage the inpatient course in collaboration with the attending.
  • Practitioner will coordinate referrals and follow up on consults to other providers and clinic staff.
  • Practitioner will provide emergency room and hospital consultations.
  • Practitioners will provide care to ambulatory/ patients when needed in coordination with ambulatory nursing staff.

  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric ICU setting, including intubation, ventilator management and other procedures as may be required ie. central lines, arterial lines
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player

Required Education/Experience:

  • Managing medical and post-operative ICU patients.
  • Conditions treated: Congenital Heart Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Epilepsy, Complex Medical, Liver Transplant.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed.
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.
  • Candidate must be able to successfully pass a third-party background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player, team currently consists of 5 PCICU physicians, and 4 other APP’s.
  • Group sees over 200 heart cases annually.
  • Ability to work as needed for days, nights and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to perform procedures: lines, intubations, etc (highly preferred).

Education and Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • Master of Science in Nursing in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – preferred
  • 1-3 years in experience as a Pediatric APRN or PA-C in an ICU, acute care or ER setting
  • Cardiac ICU experience as an APRN or PA-C (Highly Preferred)
  • Experience with ECMO (Highly Preferred)

General Summary:

AdventHealth Medical Group is searching for a dynamic, hard-working, board certified Advanced Practice Provider with experience in the rehab setting, managing Cardiac, Stroke, Brain Injuries, Neurology and Orthopedic patients. The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of rehab patients, including all aspects of care from performing patient histories, daily rounding, family visits, and new consults.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physician(s) is responsible for:

• Performing patient histories and physical exams.

• Managing the Inpatient rehab unit. Handling patient rounding, patient/family education, admissions, and discharges.

• Building relationships with referring physicians.

• Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.

• Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to either a physician or specialist.

• Collaborating with physician supervisor, OT, PT, therapists, skilled nurses, dietitians and other staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients.

• Working with insurance companies as needed for Peer to Peer prior authorizations

• Displaying a caring and always having a professional attitude, as well as maintaining personal and professional growth.

• Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explains discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more.

Schedule Details:

• Required to cover multiple campuses: AH Altamonte Springs and AH Apopka

• Coverage at AH Waterman as needed.

• Schedule: Required to work 20 shifts a Month: Monday – Friday 8.5 hours shift from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with some flexibility for patient care

• Call responsibility at AH Waterman: every other weekend and every Wednesday, including on-site hospital rounding.

• 100% traveling.
