AdventHealth Medical Group Palliative Care - Inpatient Opportunity – APRN or PA

General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

• Performs physical examinations and medical management of palliative care patients in the hospital setting including new consultations, admissions, and follow ups of patients per hospital and palliative team protocol

• Primary hospital covered will be the Orlando campus, but APP could be requested to cover other Central Florida campuses on an occasional basis.

• Provide symptom management for patients including, but not limited pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety, and depression

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, as needed after collaboration with attending physician

• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team including physicians and social workers as necessary to provide consistent care to patients through hospitalization

General Summary:

AdventHealth Medical Group Radiology at Central Florida is looking to expand coverage at AdventHealth Celebration. AdventHealth medical Group Radiology at Central Florida is the exclusive imaging provider for the 16 AdventHealth hospitals, 10 free standing Eds, and 21 outpatient imaging centers located throughout central Florida. All of our imaging centers are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for imaging excellence.

The PA or APRN, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• 100% hospital based which includes IP and OP procedures, rounding, new consults, and follow ups

• Performing physical exams, patient evaluations, and treatment of radiology patients

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.

• Will manage new patients and follow up patient visit, Assisting and developing proper plan of care and diagnosis

• Office procedures include but not limited to: Bladder instillations, foley management, endometrial biopsies, tibial nerve stimulation, post operative care

• Surgical Assistance for Urogynecologic procedures including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic female pelvic reconstructive procedures

General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performing physical examinations as needed and monitors cardiology & interventional cardiology patients in the clinic setting: new patient visits, pre-& post-procedure care, follow up, patient education
  • Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed • Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.

  • Patients with CHF, chest pain, Uncontrolled hypertension, palpitations, cardiogenic Syncope, Valve disease, cardiomyopathy, cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular arrhythmias etc.
  • Flexibility to cover Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Seminole county hospitals.
  • Care Team Model Assignment – paired with 2 cardiologists and support staff.

  • Primarily Out-Patient responsibilities
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, possible Saturday clinic, some weekend inpatient responsibilities

Required Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant studies.
  • Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Cardiology.
  • Critical Care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is a plus.

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
  • ANCC, AANP or NCCPA certification required
  • Current BLS and ACLS

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care: Pediatric

General Summary:

The Pediatric APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting, including intubation, ventilator management and other procedures that may be required
  • Managing medical and post-operative ICU patients
  • Conditions treated: Congenital Heart Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Epilepsy, Complex Medical, Liver Transplant
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Always displays a caring and professional attitude
  • Passion for pediatric patients and families

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player, team currently consists of 5 PCICU physicians, and 4 other APP’s
  • Group sees over 200 heart cases annually
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, 14 12-hour shifts, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform procedures: lines, intubations, etc.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • Master of Science in Nursing in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – preferred
  • 1-3 years in experience as a Pediatric APRN or PA-C in an ICU, acute care or ER setting
  • Cardiac ICU experience as an APRN or PA-C (Highly Preferred)
  • Experience with ECMO (Highly Preferred)

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license (or eligibility to obtain FL licensure)
  • Certification by Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) (Highly preferred)
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care Certification (Highly preferred)
