GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Daily rounds on new and established patients.

• Responsible for in-person and virtual patient visits.

• For inpatient assignment, assists the attending physician in the care and management of patients on inpatient units within the hospital.

Practice Summary:

AdventHealth Neurology in Orlando is in search of a neurology advanced practice provider to provide care to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate would have some sort of exposure to Neurology whether as an RN or having experience with a provider.

General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

• Performing history, physical examinations as needed and monitors neurology patients in the clinic setting: established patients and deep brain stimulation programming for tremor, Parkinson disease and dystonia (Training would be provided)

• Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests

• Seeing patients with the following list of conditions: Parkinson’s Disease, Gait disorder, Tremors, Lewy Body Disease, Dystonia, Hemifacial Spasm, Dyskinesia, essential tremor, etc.

• Performing DBS titration • Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff.

General Summary:

• Performs physical examinations and medical management of palliative care patients in the hospital setting including new consultations, admissions, and follow ups of patients per hospital and palliative team protocol

• Primary hospital covered will be the Orlando campus, but APP could be requested to cover other Central Florida campuses on an occasional basis.

• Provide symptom management for patients including, but not limited pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety, and depression

• Responsibilities in clinic include but are not limited to: Management and closure of complex lacerations, wound care/dressing changes, debridement, suture removal, etc.
