General Summary:

General Summary:

The PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Performs history and physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of gyn surgical oncology patients in the inpatient setting at our Orlando campus.

• Inpatient procedures include PAPs and endometrial biopsies.

Neuro Critical Care – PA or APRN

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking an experienced NeuroICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding critical care team. The APP would be based out of AdventHealth Orlando, which has approximately 165 critical care beds. Our Neuro Critical Care unit is currently 28 beds. Our group is currently looking to continue to grow its comprehensive and successful 24/7 closed ICU model.

The APP would serve as a member of the Neurocritical Care team by assisting in management of critically ill patients at AdventHealth. The PA/APRN applies specialized skills and knowledge related to Neuro ICU settings in which they practice, contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and consulting at AdventHealth. 

General Summary: Under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital, the APP will assist with:

  • Providing direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with multi-system failure, utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient’s physician
  • Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations and document findings in accordance with hospital requirements
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners
  • Perform CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation; directing administration of life supporting drugs, and defibrillation
  • Insert and manage arterial catheters, central venous catheters and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment
  • Interface patients with monitoring and instrumentation equipment and directs and educates others in performing the same functions
  • Perform admissions to Neuro ICU during night shifts and consultations to Neuro-Intermediate Unit during day shifts
  • Formulate and implement a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries
  • Assess patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient
  • Participate and assist with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of the patients admitted to the ICU

Schedule Details

  • All Inpatient - Schedule is 14 12-hr shifts/month, all nights
  • Extra shifts available with differential
  • Coverage is 14-20 ICU and Intermediate beds at night

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • The APRN/PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for
  • Performs physical examinations of surgical patients including, but not limited to: new patient visits, established/follow-up visits, pre & post-operative care.
  • OR assist allowed within scope of practice.
  • Hospital rounding patient education, discharge summaries.
  • Responsibilities in clinic include but are not limited to: Management and closure of complex lacerations, wound care/dressing changes, debridement, suture removal, etc.

General Summary:

The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of breast surgery patients, including all aspects of Peri-operative care from performing patient histories and daily rounds to invasive surgical procedures.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physicians is responsible for:

  • Performs patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting
  • Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required
  • Performs first assistant duties.
  • Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon, often assisting several surgeons in a single practice
  • Has exacting knowledge of each surgeon's idiosyncrasies to expedite the procedure and limit patient morbidity and mortality
  • Uses knowledge of medical model to promote synergistic relationship between physician and PA
  • Post-op- Writes orders in the recovery room, talks with family, visits patients performs post op procedures and more
  • Discharge planning – Dictates discharge summaries, writes prescriptions, explain discharge instructions, confirms follow-up appointments and more

  • Throughout the year multiple community outreach programs are performed in order to raise awareness of screening mammography, signs and symptoms of breast cancer and high risk breast disease as well as family history of breast cancer the physician assistant will assist with these outreach programs in any way necessary.

AdventHealth Medical Group, part of the largest faith based not-for-profit healthcare system in the world, is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our team during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

The Cardiovascular Surgery program is now led by Dr. Lawrence Lee, MD, MBA, a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in mitral valve disease, complex multivalve and structural heart pathology. Dr. Lee trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, completed advanced research in ischemic cardiomyopathy, and most recently served as Chief of Cardiac Surgery and Surgical Director of the Structural Heart Program at Tufts Medical Center. His vision emphasizes clinical excellence, innovation, and strong APP-physician collaboration.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the cardiovascular surgeons, the PA-C or APRN-RNFA will provide comprehensive perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients, practicing at the top of license in a high-acuity, team-based environment.

AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiovascular Surgery in Central Florida

Physician Assistant, PA-C, or Nurse Practitioner, APRN-RNFA

Serving AdventHealth Orlando or AdventHealth Celebration

General Summary:

  • Under the direction and supervision of the surgeon, the Cardiovascular Surgery PA-C or APRN-RNFA will perform cardiovascular surgical preparation procedures, per-operative and post-operative procedures, and assists in performing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Provide patient and family with pre-operative education, answer questions regarding surgery, recovery and risk factor modification.
  • Obtain and perform history and physical examinations.
  • Record and interpret pertinent data (labs, diagnostic studies, discharge summaries, progress notes, etc.) including writing orders and discharges.
  • First assisting in cardiovascular surgery, vein and radial artery harvesting, first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic and thoracic surgery.
  • Ability to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic.
  • Admit patients, attend rounds, complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate follow-up.
