Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant, PA-C

Full-Time Opportunity with IBD focus at AdventHealth Orlando

General Summary:

Our teams in Digestive Health & Surgery Institute and AHMG are building a comprehensive, multi-specialty IBD program. This multispecialty IBD program will include gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, dieticians, psychologists, social workers, ostomy RNs and IBD pain specialists. This position is the first of several APP positions that will become part of a growing team of physicians and advanced practice providers focused on IBD.

The IBD program brings a first of its kind offering to our patients within Central Florida.

The APRN or PA, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performing physical examinations of patients, evaluation, and treatment of patients with IBD or other GI related conditions
  • Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, such as labs and imaging
  • Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to other specialists, as needed
  • Collaborating with physician supervisor to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Ordering and managing infusion medications
  • Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all times

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong medical decision-making skills

Schedule Details:

  • Primarily outpatient, some in-patient responsibility
  • Predominantly Monday – Friday schedule
  • Some flexibility to work evening or weekends preferred, not required
  • One weekend of call per month

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Opportunities available across Central Florida.  AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal APRN’s or Physician assistants to work in our NICU’s across our system on a PRN basis.

General Summary: The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP/PA is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement.
  • Circumcision as needed (depending on campus)
  • Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members.
  • Providing education and support to patients’ families
  • Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a supervising physician

Schedule Details:

  • Dependent on which hospital shifts are picked up at
  • PRN on an as needed basis

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with Neonatal focus, or master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies with Neonatal focus
  • 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an NNP is required
  • Experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred)

Neonatal Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Opportunities available in the Melbourne, Florida area.  AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic Neonatal APRN’s to work in Holmes Regional Medical Center’s 10 bed NICU.

   

General Summary: The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines and chest tube placement, and circumcisions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, other specialists and among NICU team members.

NICU offers whole range of level III services such as high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, whole-body hypothermia and neonatal surgeries.

General Summary: The APP, under the supervision of Physicians is responsible for:

  • The NNP/PA is responsible for providing care for NICU patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice

Practice Summary:

AdventHealth Neurology in Winter Park is in search of a neurology advanced practice provider to provide care to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate would have some sort of exposure to Neurology whether as an RN or having experience was a provider.

General Summary: The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performing history, physical examinations as needed and monitors neurology patients in the clinic setting: established patients and deep brain stimulation programming for tremor, Parkinson disease and dystonia (Training would be provided)
  • Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests
  • Seeing patients with the following list of conditions: Parkinson’s Disease, Gait disorder, Tremors, Lewy Body Disease, Dystonia, Hemifacial Spasm, Dyskinesia, essential tremor, etc.
  • Performing DBS titration
  • Collaborating with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff

AHMG Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology is seeking a Family or Pediatric APRN or PA-C to join a growing practice. The role involves direct care for cardiac arrhythmia disorders in infants, children, teenagers, and adults with congenital heart disease. The APP would work in outpatient and inpatient settings. Also, he/she would have a role in the EP laboratory during EP procedures.  The position involves collaboration between pediatric cardiology teams, neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, and inpatient cardiology. All services would be under the supervision of the staff pediatric electrophysiologist. 

General Summary:

The APRN or PA, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of adult and pediatric electrophysiology patients in the clinic and hospital setting
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Assist Physician with hospital/Lab procedures as needed
  • Assist patient and family with pre- and post-procedural education
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Research and database maintenance

Knowledge and Skills Required:

We are looking for PA’s and APRN’s to serve as members of our expanding critical care team. The APP assist in management of critically ill patients in our closed ICU.  The ideal candidate would apply specialized skills and knowledge related to ICU settings to contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provides leadership to the organization. 

General Summary: The APP under the supervision and direction of the Physician and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital: (other duties as assigned)

  • Obtain patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners.
  • Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents as necessary
  • Assesses patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient.
  • Procedures performed but not limited to: inserts and manages arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment, CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation, repositioning endotracheal tubes; and defibrillation
  • directing administration of life supporting drugs according to established protocols
  • Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.

Schedule Information:

  • 14 - 12-hour shifts are required per month
  • Days and nights are required
  • 2 weekends per month are required
  • Hours are either 7 AM – 7 PM (Day), or 7 PM to 7 AM (night)

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Acute Care Certificate required) or Physician Assistant (PA) Studies
  • 5 years of ICU RN experience OR 3 years as APRN in the ICU
  • 3 years as a PA in the ICU OR 5 years as a PA in a surgical specialty

Certifications:

  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
