Overview
AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to provide inpatient pediatric and newborn care at our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The selected physician will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, family-centered care for newborns, pediatric patients, and their families across the continuum of hospitalization.
This position offers the opportunity to care for well newborns, late preterm infants, and neonates requiring Level II NICU services while working closely with obstetric, neonatal, emergency medicine, and pediatric subspecialty teams.
Summary:
- Perform newborn assessments, admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning
- Attendance at high-risk deliveries and C-Sections
- Stabilization and management of newborns requiring respiratory support, phototherapy, IV fluids, etc.
- Inpatient pediatric consultations and admissions
- Newborn nursery coverage
- Coordination of transfers to Level 4 NICU at AdventHealth for Children
- Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- You would work with our team of neonatologists and also have pediatric subspecialty support through our AdventHealth for Children at the Walt Disney Pavilion
Requirements:
- Recent NICU experience preferred
- proficiency with newborn resuscitation and stabilization
- Procedure proficiency: intubations, resuscitation, and managing ventilators for short periods of time
- MD or DO degree required
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics Required
- Completion of an ACGME – accredited program Required
- NRP Certification Required
- Unrestricted Florida License Required
