Overview
The ACMO is a senior leadership position within AdventHealth Medical Group, Central Florida Division, reporting to the Chief Physician Executive. The ACMO will support the CPE in overseeing clinical operations, patient safety and quality advancement initiatives and will partner with the CPE leading the AHMG medical staff and governance structure. The ACMO will play a critical role in coordinating and leading medical staff initiatives, cost-effective utilization, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ACMO provides leadership, strategic direction and clinical operational management of over 1500 physician and advanced practice providers across 70+ subspecialties. This position is 0.8 Administrative, 0.2 clinical.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in system-wide initiatives or workgroups to provide leadership and influence critical decisions, prioritization of initiatives and performance improvements
- Ensures that are teams are appropriately staffed, have the correct competencies and are performing in conjunction with best practices recognized in the industry as well as entertaining new models that may bring value to the Organization
- Champion physician compensation methodologies; Direct conversations and discussions to support the model across the organization.
- Assist the CPE in the development and execution of clinical strategies that align with the organization’s goals for quality care, patient safety and operational efficiency; value based care initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care
- Oversee the management and coordination of AHMG medical staff, including recruitment, credentialing and performance evaluation
- Lead and participate in interdisciplinary committees and workgroups focused on improving clinical quality and operational efficiency
- Monitors key performance metrics on HRO scorecards, works with leadership to remove operational barriers in achieving desired outcomes
- Partner with operational leaders on moving key metrics optimizing a Consumer-Focused Network
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Ability to have challenging conversations with physicians and APP's

- Understands healthcare operations to collaborate effectively with operators and physicians
- Strong business acumen, intelligence and capacity to think strategically and implement tactically
- Well versed in managed care and health policy
- Experience with healthcare informatics, electronic health records and clinical data analysis tools
- Ability to work effective with hospital administration, staff, clinicians, physicians and community members
- Ability to analyze data, use evidence-based approaches to drive clinical improvements
Education and Experience Required:
- Doctor of Medicine of Doctor or Osteopathic Medicine degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years professional, post-residency experience in direct patient care
- Minimum of five (5) years in an executive leadership or senior leadership role within a medium to large integrated health system
Licensure, Certification. Registration Required:
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Florida (or ability to attain license by endorsement)
- Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in respective specialty
