AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency in Orlando, Florida is hiring a PhD level behaviorist to join our faculty to educate and empower the next generation of family physicians. The behavioral medicine faculty is an essential member of our team and a faculty colleague. The position itself will be 60-70% clinical and 30-40% administrative. The clinical time will be a mix of precepting residents and individually rendered patient clinical care. The ideal candidate would have some level of both clinical experience as well as educational experience working with residents. We welcome interests in lifestyle medicine, addiction medicine and diversity training. Opportunities for faculty development abound with the support of a seasoned Program Director.

Requirements:

PsyD in Clinical Psychology, APA Accredited

A strong emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient centered care. Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth.

Program background information:

AdventHealth Winter Park Family Medicine Residency Program is an established, premier training site for family medicine residents with almost five decades of experience. Our board certification rate for the past five years is 100%. Residents graduate and are hired both locally and regionally as outpatient physicians, hospitalists, and as fellows in multiple types of fellowships. Our faculty speak at regional, national, and international academic venues. Our Centre for Family Medicine is a delightful clinic/academic office space just across the street from the hospital. The Center for Health and Wellbeing, our gym, is also just across the street and serves as our weekly meeting site for Walk with a Doc.

The gorgeous Winter Park location is located 15 minutes from downtown Orlando, 30 minutes from Disney, Universal, and Sea World. The Florida beaches, both East Coast/Atlantic and West Coast/Gulf are an easy drive away. Central Florida is covered with subtropical foliage, lakes and rivers, and adventures at every turn. The downtown venues include the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, multiple museums, the Orlando Magic and the Orlando City Soccer Club. The University of Central Florida is the second largest college student body in the nation and boasts multiple nationally recognized sports teams. The hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders to a 382-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness. Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P.
