AdventHealth Medical Group APP Educator - Critical Care Medicine
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an experienced and passionate Advanced Practice Provider to serve as an APP Educator. This unique role combines clinical excellence with professional development, allowing you to shape the future of APP practice through education, mentorship, and leadership while maintaining an active clinical presence.
As an APP Educator, you will play a key role in supporting transition-to-practice programs, APP fellowships, onboarding initiatives, and ongoing professional development efforts. Working collaboratively with physicians, operational leaders, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help ensure APPs are equipped to provide exceptional, evidence-based care across our organization.
Essential Functions
• Lead AdventHealth's APP Transition-to-Practice Programs, our comprehensive onboarding and training experience designed to prepare newly hired APPs for long-term clinical success, as well as specialty fellowship initiatives.
• Serve as a mentor, educator, and trusted clinical resource for both new and experienced Advanced Practice Providers.
• Develop and deliver specialty-specific education, competency assessments, and professional development programs that promote clinical excellence.
• Partner with physicians, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to advance evidence-based practice and enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with quality and safety teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and organizational excellence.
• Guide APP onboarding, including workflow optimization and EMR education, helping providers successfully integrate into practice.
• Maintain clinical expertise through direct patient care while fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth.
• Partner with the clinical education team to create innovative learning opportunities that support APP development and success across the organization.
Schedule Details
• 12-hour shift-based coverage (days/nights)
• 60% Clinical | 40% Administrative
• Based in the Altamonte ICU for clinical practice
• Supports APP education initiatives across Central Florida
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Strong clinical expertise and a passion for education, mentorship, and APP development.
• Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to teach, coach, and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and healthcare technology.
• Strong collaborative, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, adaptability, confidentiality, and accountability.
Education and Experience Required
• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current APRN or PA-C licensure.
• Minimum of two (2) years of APP experience.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and standard computer applications.
Education and Experience Preferred
• Five (5) or more years of APP experience.
• Previous experience in education, mentorship, precepting, onboarding, or professional development of APPs and clinical staff.
• Experience designing or delivering clinical training, educational programs, or competency assessments.
