General Summary:
AdventHealth Celebration Radiation Oncology is part of the Florida-wide radiation oncology practice, inclusive of 32 providers across 15 clinics. AH Celebration provides care for patients in the south Orlando market and beyond. We care for 45-50 patients on treatment daily with two Varian TrueBeam accelerators and a busy consult and follow-up practice in the ground floor of the Celebration Cancer Center, built in 2019 This clinic is a nationwide leader in technology adoption as a training Center of Excellence in surface-guided RT, and one of two sites in AdventHealth offering integrative medicine counseling through our Health Eating and Active Lifestyle program. The clinic is staffed by four radiation oncologists providing 1.7 FTE coverage, a full-time APP, 2 FTE RNs, and 2.4 FTE consumer access specialists.
The APRN/PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:
• Performing evaluation and management for radiation oncology patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Developing an independent survivorship practice for patients who have completed radiation therapy
• Providing symptom management during patients’ course of treatment and making appropriate referrals to either the supervising physician or specialist, as needed
• Supporting a patient-centered healthcare approach through patient and family education and support.
• Collaborating with physician supervisors and staff to provide consistent care to patients and a positive team environment
• Displaying a caring and professional attitude at all times and striving for personal and professional growth
• Completing all documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with medical policies.
• Contributing to a strong safety culture, including a commitment to process and outcome improvement to enhance the delivery of excellent, cost-effective health care
• Actively participating in outstanding customer service and accepting responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Details:
• Five day work week - Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, No Call!
• Outpatient clinic-based practice with occasional inpatient consult services required (average of 3 consults per week)
• Telehealth appointments are offered
• Comprehensive interpreter support provided by audiovisual tablet
• EPIC EMR
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
• Strong communication skills
• Strong medical decision-making skills are a must
Required Education & Experience:
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
• Current, valid Florida APRN or PA-C license
• ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) OR PA certification
• BLS and ACLS required
• ONS Certification preferred for NP candidates
