Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, (FNP) or Physician Assistant, PA-C

Full Time Outpatient Position

General Summary:

The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs physical examinations of patients, assessment and treatment of injuries or illnesses for pediatric through geriatric patients, including women’s health
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Independent and collaborative medical management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff, to provide consistent care to patients
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
  • Must demonstrate excellence in patient focused medical care & delivery of care
  • Strong medical decision-making skills
  • Ability to perform procedures such as joint injections and suture removal

Schedule Details:

  • All outpatient, not hospital commitment
  • Schedule is Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM
  • No hospital call, after-hours phone service only

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player
  • Flexible, adaptable to change
  • Willingness to learn

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (FNP) or Physician Assistant studies
  • 1-2 years of experience in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine treating patients of all ages and a variety of acute & chronic conditions

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida APRN or PA-C license
  • ANCC, AANP or NCCPA (or equivalent) certification
  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
