Join a high-acuity critical care team providing advanced, collaborative care for critically ill patients in a dynamic ICU environment. Working alongside intensivists and multidisciplinary specialists, the Advanced Practice Provider plays an integral role in managing complex medical conditions, responding to emergent situations, and driving exceptional patient outcomes.
This position offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license, utilizing advanced critical care skills and procedures while serving as a key clinical resource within the care team. The APP will contribute to quality initiatives, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement efforts that support AdventHealth's commitment to whole-person care.
General Summary
The APP, under the supervision and direction of the Physician and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital, will: (other duties as assigned)
• Perform advanced critical care procedures, including central and arterial line placement, pulmonary artery catheter management, intubation, extubation, and emergent airway interventions
• Manage critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-support therapies
• Play a key role in emergency response and patient stabilization efforts
• Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams to drive exceptional patient outcomes
• Provide care across both the Medical Surgical ICU and Cardiovascular ICU, managing a diverse, complex patient population
• Support innovation, quality improvement, and evidence-based critical care practices
Schedule and Unit Information
• 14 shifts per month
• Mid-shift schedule: 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
• Primary Campus: AdventHealth Waterman
• Coverage across the Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU
• Collaborative ICU environment with strong physician and multidisciplinary support
• Opportunity to care for a diverse and medically complex patient population while working alongside experienced critical care specialists
Requirements
• Master's degree in Nursing (Acute Care APRN) or Physician Assistant Studies
• Critical care experience required:
• APRNs: 5+ years ICU RN experience or 3+ years practicing as an ICU APRN
• PAs: 3+ years ICU experience or 5+ years in a surgical specialty
• Strong procedural skills and comfort managing complex, high-acuity patients
• Experience caring for medical, surgical, and cardiovascular critical care patients preferred
• Commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care Certifications
• Current, valid Florida APRN or PA-C License
• Acute Care Certificate required for APRNs
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• FCCS and ATLS certifications highly preferred but not required

AdventHealth Waterman is a 300-bed, full-service community hospital located in the heart of Lake County. Founded in 1938 by Frank Waterman, president of the Waterman Fountain Pen Company, the hospital has grown from an 18-bed facility to a leading provider of acute and home health services in Central Florida. The hospital joined AdventHealth in 1992 and moved to its current location in 2003. With more than 1,900 employees and over 300 physicians and advanced practice providers on its medical staff, the hospital treats more than 14,000 inpatients a year and treats over 65,000 patients in its Emergency Department annually.
