Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, APRN

Full Time Position



The APRN under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performing health assessments including patient history and physical examination in the clinic setting
  • Performs diagnostic procedures according to privileges and maintains log 
  • Conditions treated include but are not limited to: Acne Accutane/follow-ups, warts, eczema, Mollusca, rashes
  • Procedures include but not limited to: Hair laser removal, biopsies, curette cautery
  • Orders, interprets and incorporates diagnostic tests, studies and lab values into the plan of care; evaluates effectiveness
  • Formulates appropriate diagnosis based on history, examination and clinical findings
  • Plans and provides care within the framework of policies, unit guidelines and privileges
  • Orders pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies according to privileges
  • Provides ongoing patient/family and staff education
  • Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team including family
  • Documents in a timely and thorough manner
  • Communicates report in an efficient and complete manner
  • Will cover the Orlando and Winter Garden clinics 

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (Family or Pediatric)
  • 3-5 years of ARPN experience in one of the noted areas: General Pediatrics, Peds Dermatology or Pediatric Inpatient

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Bilingual or Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)

Required Licensure

  • Current, valid Florida APRN license
  • Certification by ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
  • BLS & ACLS

Hospital Description

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 peds ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 102 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system.  We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes.  We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, the region’s only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017.  Our unparalleled network consists of 28 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center totals over 15,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.  These 28 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando.  Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida.
