AdventHealth Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital, in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic and experienced, board-certified Gastroenterologist to serve as Program Director and launch the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. This employment opportunity is for a gastroenterologist who has a passion for teaching. This position would lead a state-of-the-art program based at a tertiary facility of 1289 beds. Ranked by US News and World Report, Florida Hospital has consistently been awarded “Best Hospital” in the state of Florida.
AdventHealth would like to continue developing its emerging institute for Digestive Health under the direction of the new program director. Using the institute framework to connect the digestive health services and drive a coordinated approach will be crucial in developing these service lines. As part of this gastroenterology development, the fellowship program is an integral part of this growth. The new program director will not only lead the fellowship from infancy but will outline a vision related to our gastroenterology department. The ideal candidate should have several years of academic experience, leadership over a GI section, and program development experience.
Anticipated to launch in 2020, this approved program will accept two fellows per year, working with faculty from across our digestive health institute.
Ideal candidate should bring a vision to increase academic activity including research, posters, and presentations. Dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of Florida Hospital are required.
Requirements: Minimum of five years’ faculty experience as a Program Director or an Associate Program Director. Physician must be board certified in Gastroenterology through the ABMS.
This position would be employed through AdventHealth’s Graduate Medical Education department. AdventHealth residency programs include Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Radiology and Pediatrics. Other Florida Hospital fellowship programs include Colorectal Surgery, Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, HPB, Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Women’s Health, and Gynecologic Oncology.
